ModeratorWhat makes you think it can only run older firmware?
It can run any, up to and including the latest.

ModeratorWelcome to the Forum

A USB stick will not work, Humax should be aware of that!
See the FAQ for HDD I have tested so far with this unit.

Barry
ModeratorHumax have just launched a 2TB version of the DTR T-1010 YouView unit if that is of interest.
Barry
ModeratorA belated welcome to the Forum

Give us an idea of which channels you editing off the list and timers that fail and I’ll try and replicate.

ModeratorQuote:It couldn’t have been fit for purpose else it wouldn’t have been pulled, that stands to reason.I have already stated this is nonsense.
Quote:Humax’s poor handling of events.Did you read my post about who suspended the update.
Quote:Just saying nothing when the update was pulled would have been far better.and look what happened elsewhere, all sorts of conspiracy theories, all of which are wrong, as are all the ‘guesses’ on here so far. The only reason I stated on here it was suspended was because some users were having trouble getting the update, and I did not want to see them wasting time and fretting that something might be amiss with their equipment – lesson learned.
The update was not suspended because of the EPG ‘lagging’, and as I have previously stated in post # 49 Humax are aware of this issue.
Quote:As a Humax customer we have a right to knowNo you don’t – It is a matter for Humax and the DTG, and if they do not want to release the info, so be it.
I’ll say it again because this appears to be falling on deaf ears…
There is nothing wrong with the update as far as users are concerned, notwithstanding the EPG lag which as usual has been blown out of all proportion in some quarters. The new apps which will be launched later work, your boxes have not been bricked.
I am temporarily closing this thread, will re-open when I have more news.
Edit: 17/04
I see more nonsense has appeared elsewhere, none of it worthy of repeating as it is erroneous as usual.
Barry
ModeratorHumax want an update back on air as soon as, and of course I’ll update this thread when I can.
Whilst I can understand some of the comments re the EPG it is not something that bothers me personally as I prefer to use the skip and page keys for quick scrolling.

ModeratorDear oh dear, there is some codswallop being posted elsewhere re the reason for this update being suspended (thanks to the person who pointed it out to me)
1. There is nothing untoward wrong with the software.
2. Your boxes have not been bricked.
3. There is no legal problem.
4. Add any other conspiracy theory, nonsense.
I was made aware as to why it was suspended, and HDR T2 owners with the update have nothing to worry about. It is only of concern to those parties involved.
Edit: even more rubbish now, I knew it would not be long before someone trotted out the oft misused ‘fit for purpose’ tagline.
Barry
ModeratorHoorah, was not there at 8 o’clock when I checked.
Edit:
No SD → HD linkage on HB 1000S though, appears to be OK on Foxsat, will check a HDR 1000S in a moment.
Barry
ModeratorI did start off my post #52 with ‘Against my better judgement’ now you know why.

ModeratorNo longer have a Sony so cannot remember if you can just turn off the auto switching.
You need to look for Bravia Sync or Link in TV menus and disable it.
Barry
ModeratorYour previous posts were Foxsat HDR related, if this is definitely a HB 1000S then it could be HDMI CEC.
If you can tell us the make of TV then someone may be able to point you in the direction of which option to switch off in TV menus….
Panasonic is viera link
Samsung is Anynet+
Sony is Bravia link or sync
etc etc
Barry
ModeratorHave not used a sky box for years so cannot comment re a comparison.
Both boxes support 5.1 when it is broadcast.
HDD upgrades not sure for the Youview unit, do not remember anyone reporting that they have attempted it, but should be ok on the HDR 2000T.
No access to amazon instant video.
If on demand content/players is an important factor for you the Youview is the option to take as it has all the main players. If not then I would consider the HDR 2000T as it is far superior as a PVR (padding, edit timers, manual timers, manual tuning)
Barry
ModeratorQuote:Has anyone found that retuning picked up data from 5 March onward?Certainly has not worked on a Foxsat HDR, so not bothered trying on a HDR 1000S but will if required.
Barry
ModeratorWelcome to the Forum

1. Have removed your other post as we need to clarify your requirements.
2. The HDR 2000T you referred in other post is not a YouView unit, it is a freeview HD PVR. It is available with 500GB and 1TB HDD.
3. Again you referred to YouView and asked about copying via usb this is not possible on those units.
