Ok, tried to change the resolution and it’s greyed out at 1080
It should not be if you carry out a factory reset with scart as per my post #20 para 2 then change to HDMI cable after reset.
Strange that you cannot get a picture with the humax set at lower resolution(s) via HDMI
Any possibility of trying on a different TV – this to prove unit HDMI output is not if fact faulty, otherwise I am at a loss.

Settings, Non Freesat, Editable channels then next, highlight the channel you want to remove and press OK – you can only delete one channel at a time iirc

@ damian – Have been waiting for a unit to become available to try a few things including your suggestions (been tied up on other tests)
1. The default after a reset with HDMI connected is 1080i, with only Scart 576i but this can be changed during the set up process.
2. Just did following, scart only connected, factory reset and changed resolution to 720p during set up process, completed set up, removed scart and inserted HDMI, unit booted and resolution still 720p.
3. The OP is probably sick to death of this now, but might be worth having a go as per para 2 see if you can then get a picture via HDMI.
Well I cannot find a software update for that model on sony webite it supports up to 1080i resolution.

Having just checked, with scart connection the HDMI settings are ‘greyed out’ – apologies for misleading you.
How old is the TV?
1. You can access HDMI resolution settings via menu, settings, preferences, video.
2. A factory reset does not delete recordings, but you will have to reschedule timers.
3. You can delete multiple channels via menu, settings, edit channels, (default password 0000) edit channel list – highlight channel you want to delete and press ok, highlight the next press ok and so on then press red to delete the selected channels.
The icons are missing from the guide unfortunately, tis the skip forward (above guide button) and skip back (above the media button) for 24 hour skips.

On myhumax.net after logging in click on my page (next to your log in name) – then on left hand side ‘Manage App Account’ If the Picasa icon is present it should have a icon next to it, click on that to sync the app.
No freezes so far for me, you could try a factory reset see if that improves matters – make a note of your recording schedule if you do, as you will have to re schedule timers.
