A lot of useful info contained within…
I’ll close this one.

ModeratorWelcome to our Forum

Will have been updated automatically during the overnight check for new software.

ModeratorI actually purchased a Bravia KDL 32 705B because of the issues some report with Sony TV’s, but for the life of me cannot replicate any sound issues – 2000T is connected to HDMI 3 (1800T is connected to HDMI 2 and no issues with that either) – Caveat I have not tried other inputs.
I have tried every combination I can think of, unit recording or not, SD and HD, switched on first then TV, no problem. TV on first then unit, no problem. Switched audio option on unit between stereo and multi, same, no problem…..baffled.
If someone wants me to try anything else feel free to suggest, I’d like to get to the bottom of this one, and btw Humax Towers are fully aware.
Barry
ModeratorGlutton for punishment, I downgraded a unit to 1.00.07 and loader 1.02 last night to see what happened with overnight updating again.
At 09:00 this morning the led was flashing purple, so it was still trying to update, probably 3rd attempt, left it alone. A few minutes later the led turned blue (standby) so guessed it had finally managed to update, on checking this is correct, now has 1.01.13 and loader 1.04. Will repeat the exercise tonight.

Moderator@StuartE – Thank you for the feedback, those instructions were essentially for users whose units are stuck in an update loop, but if it worked for you all the better. My version of usb updating instructions posted in our FAQ’s.
@Nobby – Welcome to our Forum

Pink led? The only led colours I am aware of are
blue/off
red/ standby and or recording
purple flashing updating, on update complete.
Is the led flashing?
Barry
ModeratorThat is the latest.
Barry
ModeratorWhat version of software does your unit have now?
Barry
ModeratorCaveat, both scenarios have worked for me twice but no guarantees.
1. If stuck in update loop, and you have not tried disconnecting power before then, disconnect power, wait 30 secs, reapply power and immediately touch and keep touching the channel down button, humax splash will appear/disappear, keep touching until a picture appears, then carry out factory reset.
2. If you have already tried disconnecting power then unit will not boot to on, but boots to standby even though you were touching channel down, so touch standby button on front of unit and immediately touch and keep touching the channel down button until a picture appears, then carry out factory reset.
As you can imagine it has been a bit mind numbing carrying out so many OTA tests, so going to leave it there for time being. As stated previously the ideal solution is to perform a usb update.
Barry
ModeratorYou are welcome, thank you for the update.
Surprisingly a unit with 1.00.07 and loader 1.02 updated via OTA this morning on first pass as per previous post, why? – reverting unit and trying again – glutton for punishment
Barry
ModeratorWelcome to our Forum arthurb:-)
OTA file is not corrupt, I have successfully updated a unit, albeit with a later loader.
The problem lies with units and loader 1.02, the loader reboots the unit before the update is written to flash, updating from usb appears to be the only option presently, this definitely works, I have updated a unit with 1.00.07 and loader 1.02 straight to 1.01.13 numerous times today, and I’ll repeat you have to read the update instructions carefully.
Barry
ModeratorVersions 1.01.06 and 1.01.13 include the loader 1.04.
What works for me everytime without fail.
Disconnect power, insert usb stick, reapply power and immediately touch the channel down button and keep touching until update message appears and/or led flashes purple, you can then stop touching.
Note for 2000T only, no other usb device connected to other usb port, this can cause problems when updating.
Barry
ModeratorCruzers have worked for me.
Remove power to the unit, insert usb stick, reapply power whilst touching the channel down ‘button’ on front of unit until update message appears on screen and/or front led flashes purple.
Barry
ModeratorThe loopthru problem was fixed in version 1.01.06 which was available for usb or IP updating, all subsequent versions will obviously include it.
The latest version 1.01.13 besides being made available for usb and IP updating is also OTA at this time.
Barry
ModeratorYou can fix it yourselves – update via usb does work, I know, I spent many hours today working on this.
There is no need to load any earlier versions you can go straight to the latest 1.01.13.
Note: Many times I have seen posts from users unable to update, read the update instructions carefully, it does work.
Barry
ModeratorYou can turn it off, and update via usb – I have done that myself today.
Ignore the internet option, had second thoughts and do not think that will work unfortunately….I will edit that part of post in a moment
Edit: The internet option is a possibility if you can regain control of unit, see later in thread for options on how to do this.
