I have the following problem with the Live TV app on android when I open the app the following message comes up on the screen this app was built for an older version of android and may not work properly try checking for updates or contact the developer.
It might help if you say what version of Android your phone is using or failing that what model of phone you have.

My 4000 got very confused with Eastenders last night, so I don’t think that problem was exclusive to the Aura. I have never found it very successful with reschedules.
My HDR-FOX T2 recorded the rescheduled EastEnders without problem. I agree with your observation that the FVP-4000/5000T are not very good at coping with late schedule changes. It is a shame that later boxes perform worse than their predecessors.

I remembered that my HDR-FOX T2 is set to record East Enders; I checked and it had indeed recorded the programme on Monday night starting exactly from the beginning. This suggests to me that the Aura has the same flawed implementation of accurate recording as the FVP-5000T.

I have an HDR 1000s, which works, but following forums I read about the failure of the HDD or not.
Forums report a resistor failure, which was communicated by Humax itself but no confirmation.
I think there is a lot of uncertainty whether the failing component is a resistor.
Come on Humax, either tell us the component(s) that fails or release a schematic for the receiver.
I don’t think there is any reason to believe that Humax monitor this forum.

I know iPlayer catch-up is available but was wondering if its a broadcaster issue or the Aura not checking if the EPG data is accurate often enough. I wish I had checked the Panasonic TV’s own EPG to see if it had noticed the changes, I will next time.
According to the Freeview specification the Humax should be able to cope with small changes to the schedule (up to 15 minutes early or 30? (not confident about that number) minutes late. I don’t have an Aura so can’t comment about the performance of that box in these circumstances. What I can say is that the FVP-5000T is worse at coping with scheduled changes than the earlier HDR-FOX T2 which is disappointing. I did correspond with Humax and I got an acknowledgement that there was an issue but nothing has been done to address the problem and I am guessing never will be done. My advice is chase Humax about the problem now whilst the software is still under active development.

I now seem to own a dead PVR that is useless. The 8 year old BT Youview box will have to go back under the main TV.
I am surprised as my previous models have been virtually faultless. Am I missing somethin? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
To me that sounds like a box with a hardware fault; return it to the supplier for replacement under warranty.

Seems a bit of a long and destructive process.
Doesn’t take much longer than the automatic tune once you have done it once.
I also have my doubts as to whether it would resolve the issue since BBC4HD seems to be broadcast on the same UHF channel on both transmitters visible to my aerial.
I have to confess I haven’t done a manual tune since the COM7 HD mux moved to channel 55.
Also, still doesn’t explain why the correct signal is assigned to the channel on my 3 TVs and my other 2 boxes, both of which are BT YouView boxes, (which are manufactured by Humax, if I am not mistaken).
I agree that the FVP tuning algorithm isn’t great. Can I just check that when you are retuning that you are not using the Smart tune option (which in my experience is anything but Smart)?

It would be nice, however, to discover if there is a superuser account on the box. I have tried the standard telnet port but it gets refused. will have to try other ports to see if there are any other servers running.
If you have a Linux box then you could try something like
sudo nmap -sU -p- xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
where xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is the IP address of the Humax. I will be surprised if you find a simple way in but it is always worth a fresh p[air of eyes looking at a problem.

The alternative is to copy everything off the server then re-format the disk, which is something I don’t want to do.
You could take the drive out of the FVP-5000T and connect it to a PC running Linux (easiest way would be a live boot CD) and delete the files.

Another observation, whilst looking at the manual: where’s the option to update firmware via USB, or to control when the box does firmware updates?
If it is like other recent Humax boxes then there will be no option to control updates if the box is connected to the Internet other than disconnecting it from the Internet which would instantly remove a significant chunk of functionality.

That is a main power transmitter. Is the aerial outdoors ? If so it’s a definite possibility that you have two strong a signal especially in terrain as flat as Norfolk you should have clear line of sight to the transmitter,
eg The PSB3 – HD mux erp is 100kW .
Graham is it possible on the Aura to see which Multiplex channels are currently tuned in? if we can get that information then we can eliminate mistuning.

Does the Aura not offer “smart” option when retuning?
Not with the current latest firmware. Automatic or Manual
Thank heavens for that. The Smart tune option on the FVP-5000T is not well implemented and it causes endless problems. The idea is sound in principle as demonstrated by the capability of the similar functionality in the custom firmware for the HDR-FOX T2.

Manual tuning is of absolutely no value in this situation.
Why do you think manual tuning is of no value? I have used it on various Humax models over more than ten years and found it an effective workaround to the problem of poor auto tuning implementations.
I’m not saying that it’s useless. What I am saying is that in areas with overlapping transmitters, it will often make a mess of things.
It won’t make a mess of things. Manual tuning is when you tune the box to a specific set of multiplex channels; if the transmitter isn’t broadcasting then you will have to wait until it is transmitting and then manually tune. It won’t make a mess of things though.
