I click on the ‘Upload’ tab, then find the recording I want to put back in my Humax recorded program list (from the ‘Transfer Files From’ box).
It only brings up the .ts file of the recorded program and when I click the ‘Upload’ button, a message pops up saying ‘All Files Uploaded Successfully’. This only takes a second.
Trouble is it hasn’t actually uploaded anything. The recording does not show up in the program list.
Sorry I have almost no experience with the front end to humaxrw so can’t help with that (I always used the command line). Certainly you need all four files associated with the recording to be uploaded for it to appear in the list of recordings. Does the front end allow the full list of files to be viewed on the drive? If so can you check whether all the files associated with the recording have been uploaded? Historically there have always been more reports about problems uploading than downloading. It worked without problem for me on a 9200T but I haven’t owned a 9300T.

I downloaded’humaxrw-1.15-win32.zip’. I unzipped it to a different folder and double clicked the humaxrw file, but it does not open. Something flashes up on my computer screen then vanishes immediately.
Humaxrw is a command line utility so double clicking will achieve nothing. You need to use a command prompt to launch it. Not sure why the front end for humaxrw is having problems.

If you want to fix this and not lose recordings only option.
Other than that watch any recordings you have not seen and format the HDD.
Did you see the thread on this topic from a few weeks ago where the OP demonstrated beyond all reasonable doubt that the hard drive and file system were in perfect condition but the problem persisted? At that point I decided I didn’t know what was going on.

Surely, with modern processors, boot up should be faster?
I think the issue is that the processors in a PVR have just enough performance for the heaviest workload and most of the compute intensive work such as decoding is done in hardware. Hence the processor itself will only have a small fraction of the performance of the CPU in your laptop.

The hard disc is on permanently. I also notice that the antenna connection seems to get remarkably hot; when in operating mode.
Are both these issues normal?
Do you have the network server enabled? This will, I think, keep the box in a half awake state with the hard drive spinning during the active hours.

I have fvp5000t with uptodate software. I press instant record to record end of program when I come to watch it I get only a few seconds of the program. It happens often
There have been a few similar reports so you are not alone. Instant record works OK for me so not sure what is going on.

Anyway I would like to save all these particular recordings for future reference to another hard drive using a hard drive adaptor.
I have read on the forum of an app called humaxrw. Would this allow me to save these recordings to an external hard drive without disturbing my other recordings, and if so would I be able to view them on my PC from the external hard drive.
Also when I have more space on my Humax hard drive again would I be able to move them back to the Humax.
Yes all that should be possible. Each recording has a main file with a .ts extension and several other files that are required only by the Humax. If you just wanted to view the programme from a PC then you would need just the .ts file but as you may want to put them back then you need the full set of files.

ParticipantAnother way of moving the recordings would be to plug a USB memory stick into the Humax; then go to the list of the recordings press the “+” key and select Copy or Move. For TV programmes this is a lot slower than the DLNA method I described above but might not be so painful for a radio recording.

I have done the first part of the DNLA server, please could you tell me the subsequent steps for Windows 10.
I will try both methods and report back.
On a Windows 10 computer, start Windows Explorer, select This PC, scroll down to Network (NB don’t click on Network) and you should see HUMAX FVP DMS xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx which is the DMS server, right click on it and select Open.

Hi it was v3.13 I tried, version I have is 1.3.12, I really appreciate the help Martin
Those two version numbers refer to different things. From your description it sounds as though you have successfully installed both, just as many have done deliberately!
At the HDR-FOX T2’s core is the Humax software, and that is 1.3.12 which is the latest version.
Actually when I checked the Humax website this afternoon I saw that they have released 1.3.13 to fix the expired certificate error that was stopping iPlayer working.

I put update on usb turned off box put usb in and turned back on at back, usb stick was flashing but nothing happened, tried it in both usb and with micro sd in usb.
When you say you turned the box off, did you put the box into standby or did you turn off the mains power? Turning off the mains power after putting the box into standby and then restarting is the best way to do it. The USB stick needs to be using FAT16 or FAT32 file system; if it is NTFS formatted it won’t work. Similarly the partitioning scheme needs to be MBR; a stick using a GPT style partition scheme won’t work.

The OP wants to transfer Radio recordings Not Video. These appear as .mpg files and what would be the point of encrypting audio content ?
Not sure if the files are mpeg 1 layer 2 or mpeg1 layer 3.
The method I described works perfectly well with radio recordings as well as TV recordings and is much easier than messing around with getting Samba 1 working.
