That’s pretty poor support from Humax!

What is poor support ? The OP never said he asked Humax support for help 😯

What? To quote the OPs post “I did contact the Humax support, and was told that It is currently not supported, but may be included in a future update.” You even included that text in the quote in your reply.

I didn’t realise I would lose any set schedules on that multiplex, I have a good few set so hard to know if anything is missing and not sure what stations are linked to the transmitter and mux that was mentioned

If you use this link https://www.freeview.co.uk/corporate/platform-management/channel-listings-industry-professionals and search for ARQ B you should find all the affected channels and none of them are HD.

I suspect this is one of those situations where if it worked properly, Smart Tune would fix things nicely but it causes far too many problems for me to risk it,

Not sure if this new channel is on any of them?

GB News is carried by the ARQ B multiplex which is channel 30 on your list. I suggest you do a manual tune (without first deleting anything) for channel 30.

After a few hours being on when I try “On-Demand” it says “not available, try later”

I checked signal strength on tuner 1 and it’s 98%, with quality 100%, and very little variation.

98% signal strength is on the high side for an FVp-5000T; have you considered using an attenuator in the aerial cabling to reduce the strength a bit and see if it helps?

I am also having issues with picture breakup, freezes while watching content. It was working fine before. Have noticed it in the last few weeks.

Signal Strength is 66%-70% (sure this use to be higher)

    Signal Quality is 100%

Do you use the SD or the HD channels?

    Live TV only.

Thanks. I am struggling to think of a good explanation; anybody else have some thoughts about this?

Just to confirm, this it watching TV via 5000T.

But is it watching live or watching a recording or both?

Recently, my 5000T picture freezes and then jumps to live again, and again, and again. Sound is unaffected.

Is this when watching TV live via the PVR or when watching recorded content?

    What Homeplugs are reliable.

TP-Link are a reasonable choice. Perhaps TP-Link TL-PA4010PKIT for about £30 for a pair from Amazon.

That in itself is odd because all of the radio stations start at 700.

True but you have to look for them separately.

The Humax FVP 5000T seems to to everything I would need, but in view of the shiny new 4K Humax box, do we think the FVP 5000T will be obsolete (and unsupported) some time soon.

I don’t think there is much evidence of Humax doing anything to improve the software. Over the last year here has been a fix for a problem with searching in YouTube that affected a number of Humax models and a fix for an unknown issue that rendered most of the players unusable and took a very long time to arrive. As a recorder it is reasonably reliable (but not as good as the earlier HDR-FOX T2). The thing that really irritates me is the inconsistent and slow user interface; if you want to proceed, go to somewhere you can test a box to see if you could put up with it. I put up with it because it is much better with subtitles than an HDR-FOX T2 but am seriously considering an Aura when the last quirks in that are resolved. It is very notable that Humax appear to have put much more post release effort into the Aura that the FVP-5000T received.

For a start it’s so bloody slow. I could just about put up with that, but now it keeps missing my programs. It’s missed every recording set for 2 weeks now – even though it shows in the guide that it will be recorded.

I agree that the FVP is slow but in my experience it does a reasonable (but not perfect) job of recording things. Are you confident that the box is tuned to a single transmitter?

The EXIT button removes the OSD from a paused screen on my old Humax machines and newer Panasonic machine, if you’ve got an EXIT button try that.

For the FVP-5000T the back button is a better option (as per post #1).
