It can be done with foxsat .ts files and on the T2 with .hmt files, it could probably be done with .hts files too. I’m guessing someone has already done it. It’s just a matter of digging a bit or maybe modifying what is already available.
The encryption on the more recent boxes is stronger than the early boxes; I am not aware of anyone removing encryption from an HDR-1100S but it isn’t impossible. Interested to hear what your digging finds.

I know the hd videos can be fixed so you can play them on any device and there exists some software called foxy but i’m not sure if it will work.
Foxy is for the HDR-FOX T2 Freeview box and won’t work with other boxes. I will be interested to hear how encrypted “HD videos can be fixed so you can play them on any device”?

The Aura does suffer from poorer quality tuners than previous models of Humax products.
My opinion is that the tuners on the Aura are designed to have lower amplification than for earlier models to reduce problems for users who are close to a transmitter. I don’t think it is a quality issue.

I think I’ve found the problem, and that is that my 9300T has a 3.5″ HDD rather than 2.5″, and the larger drives need a 12v supply which is not available on most USB to SATA adapters.
An adapter with a 12V power supply on eBay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/315241416522?

I'm running humaxrw in admin mode, and 1: is the drive which pops up in Disk Management when I plug in the HDD. Disk Management reports that the disc is working properly and has No Media, which I assume is what's expected.
I've tried the HumaxRW_Front-End and HummyReadFiles094 and both report that they can’t find a Humax HDD. It seems that the system is finding the drive OK, but not managing to identify it as a Humax HDD.
I'm at a loss!
The command line looks correct to me. My only thought is that it is a permissions problem; can you describe how you are running as administrator?

Has there been a change in the format of 9300T drives since humaxrw1.15??
Long time since I have used humaxrw but there certainly hasn’t been any change to the format of 9300T drives. What parameters are you using on the command line?

Sometimes see a picture on 15 seconds, sometimes 2 minutes that is not right.
Are you aware that one of the software updates introduced a forced start from cold once every four or five days which can take 2 minutes? My guess is this was done because of a memory leak which I assume has never been fixed.

My intention is to swap out the 1Tb HDD for a 2Tb (or larger) SSD – there are no recordings that I need to keep or transfer to a new SSD. Has anyone done this and, if so, were there any unexpected problems, especially using a larger capacity SSD?
A few people have used SSD drives but the advantages are fairly small. You certainly can’t use anything larger than 2TB because the FVP uses an MBR style partition table which is limited to 2TB. Any reason why you favour an SSD drive?

I’ve been a longtime user of an FVP-5000T which unfortunately appears to be starting to fail so I’ve recieved a 2TB Aura as a gift. Having had a (very) quick look through this forum it seems that there are many problems with this box. Could I beg some of your time and ask for a list of current known issues, and any fixes/workarounds where appropriate, as a starting point.

There are a couple of threads that assert that there will be an update, but on what basis?
In the past there have been quotes from a single Humax employee; this time there are several different employees telling broadly the same story. I suspect it will be an update to the Android version which I think Humax are contractually obliged to do.

If I were Humax my starting mantra would be Stability .. Stability .. Stability.
Fundamentally the box needs stability and predictability. It needs to switch back on from where you left off, not the game of will it do a full boot, start at the home screen, or actually be on the last channel? Essentially it also needs to stop randomly resetting, freezing then crashing when watching recorded or online content.
That would be great but to fix every problem is likely to involve more software work than Humax would want.
> Fix the ‘java.util.concurrent.TimeoutException: android.media.MediaDrm.finalize() timed out after 10 seconds’ error (Most Common)
> Fix the ‘java.util.ConcurrentModificationException’ error
> Fix the ‘java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException: Index: 5, Size: 0’ error
I don’t think I have seen any of those problems; under what circumstances do you experience them?
Nice to have:
> Add support for Freeview Channel List Management (CLM).
> Fix periodic picture stutter on iPlayer and ITVX, like it skips a frame or two. This is on standard content, HD and UHD (iPlayer only).
I have seen that on iPlayer UHD recordings but not iPlayer HD. I don’t use ITVX much so can’t really comment.
> When returning to the recordings list after watching a programme it is the one still highlighted, not a random programme if other recordings have started in the meantime. Would help stop accidental deletions.
I have got used to it but I agree it is slightly irritating but it wouldn’t be high on my personal lit of things to do.
> Option to undelete programmes. Leave them recoverable for a number of days and ability to do a manual empty bin.
> Automatic management of old finished programmes and series in the recording schedule. Programme CRID codes are only valid for 13 weeks after a series has finished before the broadcaster can use it again for something completely different. Anything older than this should be automatically deleted like the 5000-T did.
They would be moderately useful improvements but again not high on my list of things to do.

It’s interesting though that the problem has not been picked up by anybody else – surely it cannot just be me???
I am pretty sure I have seen it reported once or twice but can’t remember whether a solution was found.

I’m being told onscreen I have no wifi internet connection, so in settings I locate my router/modem and I’m asked to type in the password to get access and reconnect the wifi, but there is no qwerty image to do so and trying to find a way using the remote gets me nowhere. I’ve restarted the Aura box and modem/router without any success too. I would appreciate if anyone has a solution.
I don’t usually use Wi-Fi but I just tested on my Aura and I got a screen into which I could enter a password. Have you actually turned the electrical power off for 3o seconds to see if that helps when the box is restarted?

Is software still deployed OTA?
I am pretty sure it is not deployed OTA. I think the only way to get Aura updates is via the Internet.

Thanks Martin, is that an air temperature inside the box of 55C ?
In the cases I am familiar with, it is the temperature reported by the sensor in the hard drive.
