If the 5000T has a DLNA server then that gives me all I need.
Has anyone here had experience with this feature? Is it just like using any other DLNA source ?
Yes it has a DLNA server; in settings it is called Network server and you have to specify a time window when you want it available. As far as I know it is like using any other DLNA source.

The wifi is OK as catchup works.
I am guessing that going via the WiFi socket is in some way interfering with the UPnP discovery of devices that DLNA depends upon.

I thought right, I’ll try the TV first, then switch off the 13A wifi socket, & see if the TV detects the Humax.
Humax was visible before I cancelled the 13A socket!
I’ll try it later, but I was having problems before the 13A socket was fitted.
OK that sounds as though you have something to investigate and hopefully resolve the problem. Pleas let us know if do you find the definitive solution.

The TV is fixed to the wall, & I would have difficulty moving the Humax.
Fair enough. Does your WiFi come only from the router or you do have WiFi extenders or a mesh system?

ParticipantJust a note to add that my missing in transit Aura finally turned up just after lunch. Why it was four days late I don’t know. Sadly I am too busy today with work to have a play with it.

Can’t find any mention of powersaving. It does say that there is only one connected device, IP 192.168.0.252
Don’t know what that is.
As an experiment, you might consider temporarily moving the TV somewhere you can use a wired network connection to try and establish if the problem is WiFi related.

All in all, I couldn’t be happier and I would say, if you are sitting on the fence wondering should I or shouldn’t I, then I would say go for it.
Good to hear. I am still waiting for the courier company to explain what has happened to my box that was supposed to arrive on Thursday, subsequently rescheduled for Friday.

How can I retrieve the Humax icon in the “source” option?
Is the TV able to provide other service provided over the network eg BBC iPlayer? Similarly is the Humax able to use BBC iPlayer? In the Humax settings> Advanced Settings is the Network Server on and is the Server Activation Time set correctly for the times when you want to stream to the TV? If all that is correct then tell us the IP addresses of the Humax and the TV?

Any ideas?
If you are confident about opening up electronics equipment, the first thing to try would be to disconnect the hard drive and see if the box will boot up and function as a set top box. If it does then replacing the hard drive stands a good chance of getting the box working again.

Is it possible to feed my main tv through the HDMI and connect a second tv through the aerial output?
The aerial output socket only passes through the slightly amplified signal that came through the aerial cable into the PVR. I think your options are either to use an HDMI splitter (if the second TV has an HDMI input) or to fit a modulator connected to the analogue outputs to give a feed via an aerial cable.

When I set the recorder it records the programme on every channel it’s on, including the plus 1 channel. This means I get the same programme multiple times which is really annoying, especially when I’ve set it to record a series. How can I stop this happening?
Sorry but you need to tell us which model of Humax recorder you have please?

Thanks! Looks like I’m going to have to buy a new one then…

I take it you have seen the Aura offer thread?

A frequent check for when the youview boxes can’t connect to the internet is to unplug the Ethernet cable from the youview box and check another device can use the connection.
If you are using powerline adapters then the issue could be with those. But before you start resetting those it may be easier to check the final Ethernet cable from the powerline adapter nearest the DTR-T2100 is OK first.
I agree that both those suggestions are very sensible. Cable failure in my experience is much more likely than a failed ethernet component and if Powerlines are involved they do need rebooting occasionally.

I have to confess I am not a techy so my father did it (he’s is a former electronics engineer but currently not in the best of health), and he said it showed 12.15 with no load (lode?) whatever that means.
It is a 12V power supply so 12.15V on no load sounds fine. I tend to agree with your initial diagnosis that something within the box has failed.

Well, the plug is impossible to get into but we did run it against a multimeter which I think showed some life, so I am still of the opinion something in the box itself has bitten the dust.
Can you be more precise about the signs of life; ie what DC voltage were you seeing?
