3. You can share and watch SD recordings from other receivers. But you cannot playback HD recordings from others.[/code]
I've uploaded a few I grabbed from my 4000 but can't see how to restore them
How did you get the recordings off the FVP-4000T?

Thanks for your reply. I don’t really use PiP (although have a couple of 9300s available should the need arise!) or bookmarks (don’t even know what they’re for!). Do you happen to know other differences between 1800 & 2000T please?
They are very similar, a post by Luke over at hummy.tv says:
(1) Colour.
(2) HDR-2000T has 2 USB ports, the HDR-1800T has 1 USB port.
(3) The HDR-2000T standard remote control (RM-I09U) has a dedicated button for switching the remote to TV mode and a dedicated button for switching the remote to PVR mode.
The HDR-1800T standard remote (RM-H06S) does not have a TV mode. This frees a button for ‘WIDE’ and another button for ‘TV/RADIO’.
(Both units can use the other’s remote.)
I would add:
(4) the HDR-2000T uses a 3.5″ hard drive, the HDR-1800T uses a 2.5″ hard drive.
I can also confirm neither model suffers from the skipping problem.

I tried 192.168.1.193 which is the Aura IP address on my router, but the FileZilla wizard stills tells me it’s the wrong external IP address.
What exactly is the Filezilla error message please?

I’ve downloaded FileZilla but cannot get it to configure properly using the wizard. First of all I had trouble working out the Router’s External IP Address, then when that was accepted the wizard bombed out with an Unexpected Reply
Why are you using the routers external IP address? I would have expected the IP address to use would be the IP address of the Aura.

I guess the lesson is to always repartition and reformat old hard drives before reusing them.
None of the formats you describe will work with the FVP-5000T but it may well be that reformatting the drive has mapped out some bad sectors. For what little its worth, I had so many problems with hard drives from auction sites that I now have a strict policy of only buying new drives from reputable sources.

The HDR-1100s keeps recording most of the time, so that you can see programs from the beginning (if you so wish).
Is there a way to stop this type of (to me: useless) recording and have it ONLY record those programs that I want?
I don’t think so but hopefully someone with more knowledge of Freesat will be able to confirm.

However, although the 5000T correctly reports the size of the drive- it will not record? Just get file names listed with the broken symbol?
Where did you source the ST2000vM003 drive from?

I pressed the Red Coloured Button on the Humax Remote and half the TV screen is now showing a shortlist of various TV channels at the of bottom of which it says “Welcome to Red Box Text”. How do I get rid of that? I’ve tried everything I can think of…………..nothing works. Help please.
Please could you tell us which model name or number you have?

Is there a way to pass this issue on to Humax as feedback so they can fix it in future update.
I would be astonished if Humax weren’t aware of the problem already; I don’t know if Barry has a comment to make. In my experience the Smart tune implementation (whilst a good idea if properly implemented) is likely to cause more problems than it solves.

Thanks. My Aura IP address on my network is 192.168.1.163 so I went to http://192.168.1.163:8080 and it opened up the Humax Mobile Control page which leads to a list of the recordings. I can play the recordings on my PC which is on the same network as the Aura but I cannot download the files to the PC.
So have you tried Filezilla?

Any ideas? I am new to this FVP, so it may be something obvious that is wrong here…….. hopefully!
First thing I would try is put the Humax into standby and when the hard drive stops spinning, turn off the power, wait 10 seconds, the power the box up and see if the problem has gone.

My Humax Aura is all up to date but every now and again live TV is not working, just a blank screen. All other functionality is fine. Recordings Apps and even the guide work ok.
Is this a known fault?
I think it is a known issue. I am relatively new to the Aura and have seen it once. When it happened I watched something via iPlayer and when that finished Live TV was working again. It is the sort of glitch that I hope Humax will fix in due course.

Have done a full retune of the box but still have the issue.
When you did a full retune, did you leave the “Smart tune” option on? If so try again with it off (which will delete the schedule of future recordings but will not delete the recordings that have already been made).

@Martin Liddle: I’m only ruling out the Aura based on the fact that the CEC/whatever issues surrounding the 1800T/5000T will also be present in that hardware.
I don’t think that is necessarily correct as it is based on a completely different software platform. Also there is currently a £50 off discount code.

So it will have to be another Panasonic lump, if I can find one new.
As a matter of interest, why are you ruling out a Humax Aura?
