    2. I’ve got Picture breakup on screen and recordings that has got worse!

TV signal test is Signal Strength 98%, Signal Quality 100% Arial from wall to TV!

TV signal test is Signal Strength 18%, Signal Quality 79% Arial from wall to Aura, Arua to TV. Aura power on!

TV signal test is Signal Strength 96%, Signal Quality 100% Arial from wall to Aura, Arua to TV. Aura power disconnected!

Aura signal test when I first got the box Signal Strength 36%, Signal Quality 70%, now it’s down to 14% & 21%?

How long have you had the Aura? What channel are you tuned to when you take the readings? Which transmitter are you receiving? When you do a signal test on the Aura what is all the data shown?

My Humax FVP 5000T need to be replaced so I have fitted the hard drive from the box that needed to be replaced into the replacement box but has the following issue there are recordings on the hard drive that I want to keep, the issue is that the box does not play the recordings back that are saved on the hard drive.

Is there a way to fix this issue ?

The problem will be the encryption which is unique to each box. I don’t know a way of overcoming the problem unless someone cracks the encryption.

Has anyone got any suggestions where I could get a replacement fan ?

If you pop over to https://hummy.tv and ask nicely you will probably get a second hand fan for the cost of postage.

I’ve done a bit more investigation. AngryIP shows the Aura active on port 2323 as expected and is also on the correct router IP address. I found that ‘Allow Anonymous’ was active, so turned that off but it made no difference. After changing that setting, should I have rebooted the Aura or done a power cycle?

Only one way to find out and that is to reboot the Aura.

One thing I forgot to mention. Since I last used Filezilla I have updated my laptop’s OS to Windows 11. Could it be there is something different there? Also, I noticed that I can no longer see the Aura in ‘This PC’ or ‘Network’.

On a Windows 11 computer I can access the Aura with Filezilla and I can see the Aura in ‘This PC’ and ‘Network’.

    Why can’t Aura be customised??

Developing custom firmware isn’t easy and you need people with a fair amount of programming skill and the time to spend on such a project. Also Humax have beefed up the security compared to the earlier boxes that have custom firmware. It isn’t impossible but it will need some special people to do it; unless of course Humax are prepared to assist.

No picture at all. Cannot hear any internal sound when turning on power.

You might want to read this thread over at hummy.tv https://hummy.tv/forum/threads/start-up-fails-when-hdd-connected.10164/ NB the solution is quite a long way through the thread and does involve using a soldering iron to replace a small capacitor.

Have the following issue with recording from ITV4 find when I set a series recording find that the programme that is set to be recorded does not get recorded it is a different programme that get recorded, the programme is not listed on the TV guide, has done a full re-tune did this did not fix the issue.

It sounds to me as though the series identifier is set incorrectly by the broadcaster; complain to them.

Surely they can alter the software, to divert the power to one tuner when the others aren’t in use? So its only a problem when all 4 in use at once?

Firstly the Aura has only three tuners and secondly only the tuners that are in use are powered up.

Device has been temperamental for weeks. Turning power on/off has been solving the problem of remote controller connection, but now this doesn’t work. Starts with ” cust FW 3.03 on device window. Central Circle switch blue, but doesn’t respond.

Are you getting a picture? Can you hear the hard drive spin up?

Many thanks for that, Martin The key to change symbols wasn’t immediately obvious to me ( Doh ! ) but i followed your advice and everything is working now, so many thanks for your help. Yjr only odd thing is ITV Hub is apparently not available on this device ?

It was available until the end of September this year but for some reason it was dropped by ITV from the list of supported devices; perhaps something to do with ITV Hub morphing into ITVX.

Background: PVR9300T is long in the tooth although looks showroom-ready. Menu no longer shows RECORD option but has added GAMES. This Forum and others diagnose these symptoms as HDD failure. Probably going to buy a replacement for the WD32AVVS HDD but would like to attempt to save the programmes held on it. Have removed from PVR and placed in docking unit. The HDD can be heard spinning but doesn’t come up in W10 Explorer running on laptop in Safe Mode.

The 9300T uses a Humax proprietary file system that neither Windows nor Linux understand. You need to use a program called humaxrw.exe to access the recordings. You can download humaxrw and get some basic information from the FAQ at https://myhumax.org/forum/topic/humaxrw Come back to us with any questions when you have tried humaxrw.

I’ve just bought an FVP5000, and I’m having problems getting it to recognise my wi fi router password ? the password is a three word password with a hyphem between the first and second worg, but I can;t seem to find any provision for that on the Humax keyboard, so consequently it won’t recognise it !

The on-screen keyboard has “abc” in the top left and to the right of that is “ENG – @”. To input the “-” first click on “ENG – @” which will bring up a different set of symbols which includes an “-“. Having input the “-” click on “abc” to go back to the default keyboard.

Well on my Aura, my ITV app has been updated to ITV X. Unfortunately it says that they don’t have the rights to use it and you get thrown out back to the home page. So it appears that ITV X isn’t going to work on the Aura. Time to buy another unit I think….

I think it is a bit hasty to come to that conclusion; give it a few days and see what happens.

With ref to the newer Humax Aura box, you maybe able to add the app via Humax Auru apps or sideload the app.

As Egrosvenor said “Amazon Freevee is within Amazon Prime” and Amazon Prime is installed as standard on the Aura; no need to add anything.

I have a number of recordings on the 1100S i watch regularly and really don’t want to lose them if they can be saved.

You might try reading https://www.burningimage.net/humaxusb/ which suggests the recordings are encrypted and hence won’t play on a different box.
