However, I’ve connected it directly to my Denon AVR via HDMI and set the audio on the Aura to “Audio Output Home Cinema 7.1 etc” but am not getting ATMOS audio when playing back UHD/4K films from the external USB stick.
How are you playing the content from the USB stick?

Thank you all for your input. I believe I have overcome my problem – with computers one can never presume that good times continue. I am now succeeding in opening the file list in chronogical order on my Humax FVP-5000T and copying to my laptop, via Wi-Fi
Excellent news. Can you tell us what you needed to tweak to achieve your goals.

Each time i put my humax on the picture has like white speckles ?
If i unplug the hdmi lead and plug back in they go, eventually come back next day, I have a good quality lead in it, any ideas????
Unusual problem. What model of Humax PVR do you have and how long has this problem been going on? If your TV has more than one HDMI port, have you tried using an alternative port?

Purchased new from Currys. No, when I switch it back on the issue is not there. But it turns off every time on first attempt.
I have to say I am not sure what is going on. I suggest you try turning on HDMI CEC in Settings> System Settings and see if that helps.

Recently bought FVP-5000T. Have issue with the remote. I switch the FVP on and change tv source to view it. So far so good. As soon as I press the “Recordings” button on the remote the FVP turns off and I have to switch it back on to continue. Any ideas?
Was this purchased new or second hand? When you switch it on the second time does the problem reoccur?

That sorted it, thanks, but I had not thought that that could be the problem since another device using the powerline adaptors was able to access the internet.
My experience is that even good quality powerline adaptors get their knickers in a twist occasionally; maybe once every year or two for me.

Yes, there are powerline adaptors between the PVR and the router.
So have you unplugged, waited a few seconds and then powered up all the adaptors?

My FVP-5000T is normally connected to the internet via wired LAN but the connection has suddenly failed.
Is it a wired connection the whole way or are there Homeplug (ethernet over power) adapters in the circuit?

Is there a way to transfer films etc from FVP-5000T to New Aura box.
Are they HD or SD recordings?

*UPDATE
I read somewhere that you can upload all the lost channels by taking your box to someone who has a Humax connection, connect the cables and go from there… it only bloomin worked!!!
And I now have more channels! No need for a new box
I think your symptoms suggest a problem with accessing the freesat home transponder to access the EPG. It probably needs just a small tweak to the dish alignment or the LNB skew,

Hi. How can I use my Humax remote control to turn my TV on/off, ie I’d like to just use one remote to control Humax 5000T and the TV. Thanks.
On the FVP go to Settings and then System Settings and turn on HDMI-CEC. If you pair the remote with the TV you can get a bit more control, see the section at the end of the manual (pages 34 and 35 in my copy) for the codes for each make of TV and the procedure

Hello I have problem with my humax, after upgrade screen starting turning on I see on TV words Freesat Humax after few seconds tv going black and start again. I don't know what happened.
If you were updating the software via the USB port then you need to remove the USB memory stick when the update has completed.

DNLA is included in Windows 11, but it needs to be activated. but so far activation hasn’t helped. Control Panel >> Network and sharing centre >> Media streaming options >> activate FVP-5000T
Thank you, I have been to busy to investigate for my self but that works.
This allows my laptop to see my FVP-5000T, see recordings – name and snapshot, and play video, but will not copy (rather haven’t found how to) nor print a list and only in alphabetical order. also visibility of FVP is variable
I am using an Aura but I can save recordings.
In Windows Explorer click on “This PC” > Network locations and (in my case) right click on the “Aura 4K Media server”. Select Open> Recordings> Right click on the recording you want to save and then select “Send to” > “Documents. Note the recording doesn’t appear in documents until the transfer is complete. On my network the transfer speed is about 5MB/s so a one hour SD recording takes about 8 minutes to transfer.

Windows will show the existence of my FVP-5000t, show on Media Player and Explorer, but will not allow files to be copied to the laptop.
I believe the functionality in Windows 10 is provided by a built in DLNA client. I did track down what it was a while ago but can’t find it at the moment. I had noted it doesn’t appear to be functional in Windows 11. As a workaround you could experiment with VLC which will certainly function as a DLNA client and at least on some platforms will allow content to be saved to file.
