Interesting that all three had managed to ‘escape’ the ‘signal’ that had apparently been sent.

I would guess that you do not put the PVRs into standby overnight. they have to be in standby to automatically update the software. I can quite understand that you don’t feel capable to update the software yourself but do you not have any freinds or relatives who are a bit more computer literate? My instructions for doing the update are at http://www.tynecomp.co.uk/flash9200.html

Have you tried power cycling the router? Have you checked that you have the most recent firmware for the router? My feeling is that the router is the problem in your setup. If all else fails you might consider getting a better router.

Is UPnP enabled on the router?

dannyluc – I assumed it was (like their current range of PVR’s).

I think that is a dangerous assumption; the 9200 uses a proprietary file system.

Just to confirm the Humax 8000T data in the HDD is Linux based???

Where did you get that information?

If I do a reset to defaults, will the Humax automaticaly select the correct DVB-T or DVB-T2?

Try an automatic retune; if not satisfied with the results then do a manual tune. When manual tuning you must specify the correct transmission type for the MUX.

Thanks Baz, think I am going to dump it as I don’t have the first clue about fixing it, seems pretty dead to me. I shall attempt to advertise when i get a new one.

Perhaps if you explain what happens when you apply power to it we may be able to help.

It’s as if the remote is sending continuous commands.

However – if I sit at the PVR and hold the remote at the receiver (I think it’s near the clock?) – the remote seems to work fine.

Have you checked that there is nothing else in the room that could be interfering (like a remote for another product that someone has a book left on top of it so is continuously transmitting or a fluroescent lamp)? You can buy replacement remotes.

The poster reports an error message with around 1166 recordings (seems an odd number)

Knowing exactly what the eror message says might help?

However I thought I would copy some of the video off the disc while I was at it. But when I connected to a PC nothing happened other than I heard it do the usual connect sounds. I also tried Ubuntu with the same result. No disc shows up. Any thoughts anyone ?

The Humax SD recorders use a proprietary disk format. You need to use special software to read the disk such as Humaxrw; see http://humaxdisk.wikispaces.com/HumaxRW. There is a risk that trying to read the disk on Windows has damaged the Humax partition table if this is the case then you can use HumaxCheck to fix the problem.

Whenever you watch TV through the HDR Fox T2 either as a TV programme or replay of a previously recorded programme there is a time clock permanently displayed on the lower right of the screen.

The display isn’t coming from the Humax. Try the TV manual?

1.00.23 is the latest software version so there is no upgrade available. I would suggest trying a reset to default settings (which will delete the recording schedule but leave existing recordings intact) and see if that helps.

I have a 9200T when I play back programs it works fine for a few minutes and then totally locks up.

Hard to be sure but if you can watch live TV ok via the box I would be inclined to think the disk needs formatting (from the HDD control menu).

As a matter of interest Barry, do you know what the mechanism was that was causing series link recordings to be dropped from the schedule? I could never see a pattern.

This is a strange one, not sure I have seen any other reports.

There has been at least one other identical report some weeks ago and I think the box was replaced by Humax.
