Yes I am willing to open the Humax and try to copy the contents of the hard drive to a computer. In fact they could probably stay there. Where will I find some instruction on how to do this and which type of cable I need.

You need an IDE to USB adapter eg: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/USB-2-0-SATA-IDE-CABLE-HDD-W-POWER-ADAPTER-UK-/320383801768?pt=UK_Computing_CablesConnectors_RL&hash=item4a985cd9a8. You download humaxrw from http://humaxdisk.wikispaces.com/HumaxRW

. There is a readme file with humaxrw and you might find this thread helpful: http://myhumax.org/forum/topic/9200-disk-corrupted

    Come back and ask questions.

I changed the password (0000)on pvr-9150T to prevent Grandson access. Have lost new password.

There is a sequence of colur button presses that will reset the paasword.

Go to the following menu: MENU – SYSTEM – STATUS

Now press the following buttons on the Remote control:

    RED

    GREEN

    YELLOW

    BLUE

    YELLOW

    GREEN

    RED

Select option 2 for Password Reset.

Press OK to confirm Reset and the password will now be 0000.

The hard disk shows 60% space available but there is no list of recordings shown. I am reluctant to format as there are some our family on tv saved there.

The missing programs can be recovered if you are prepared to open the Humax and connect the hard drive to a PC. humaxrw in recovery mode (-r command line option) will enable the programs to be downloaded to a PC. After allowing the Humax to format the disk, humaxrw can be used to put the programs back on the Humax.

Whether or not you choose to recover the lost programs, the only sure way to restore the Humax to health is to format the disk.

Isn’t ITV player available via the TV Portal?

Not on the Freeview boxes so far as I am aware.

    5. Yes (but need to confirm on the FOXSAT-HD).

I don’t think that is correct for the Freeview boxes where currently only BBC iPlayer is available.

The worst offender for jumping is Breakfast on BBC1.

Not one I have seen complained about previously.

Reverting to 1.00.23 – would that hooking it up to a PC & special cables etc?

Yes; cost of the bits would be a few pounds.

It would be nice if Humax fixed the problem.

I think there are two separate problems. The jumping problem may be difficult to fix. The missing some successive recordings ought to be easier.

I’m hoping that if I do decide to replace my box with an HDR-FOX T2 that it won’t suffer from quite so many small annoying problems as well as these more serious ones.

Well our experience with the HDR-FOX T2 has been very good so far and it is more reliable than the 9200.

Firstly it often jumps in ‘chase play’ and occasionally on playback. About 15-20 seconds disappear and the sound goes out of sync. It is possible to rewind back through the missing picture but not go through it at normal speed and so hear what is being said.

is this on specific channels or on all channels. There have been some reports of similar behaviour but limited to certain programs. This seems to be a problem that affects the 9300 but not the 9200. I don’t know of a workaround so it is down to Humax (or the broadcasters) to fix the problem.

The other issue has started happening after the upgrade to UPTTF 1.00.26 in July. We came back from 2 weeks holday to find it had stopped recording the day after we went. It appears that it can’t cope with ‘Come Dine with me’ 4 or 5 episodes back to back on Saturday afternoons on C4. It records the first episode but then stops recording completely.

Again there have been some similar reports so it may be a problem with 1.00.26; you could go back to 1.00.23.

Ran humaxrw and the message is “unknown partition table”, not sure the way forward here? any ideas? Desperate not to loose my recordings!

Have you allowed Windows to “Initialise” the disk in disk/device manager? The disk should not appear under “My Computer”. If this is done accidentally use the “-p” option to HumaxCheck to fix the partition table.

I’ve lost all the title, date/time and EPG info. Is that to be expected having used ts2hrw or have I misunderstood how to use it?

Yes I think that is to be expected.

I wasn’t aware that humaxcheck has any capability to recover from your situation. Is there guidance somewhere that suggests different? The usual route is to use humaxrw in recovery mode (-r command line option) to download the recordings to a PC. You can then use ts2hrw to recreate the necessary hre files and upload them back to the Humax after formatting the disk.

Any help that ANYONE can give would be gratefully received!

A starting point would be to tell us the make and model of the router. I think it is much more likely that there is a configuration issue somewhere rather than the Humax being faulty.

I think it may well be a cable problem. If I buy a new one off Amazon/ebay

Definitely not. It must be a “Null modem” cable. This is an example of the right type of cable: Ebay null modem cable
