It won’t let me attach the detailed view, it’s downloaded in excel format

Please tell us what the signal strength and quality is when tuned to BBC1 SD?

    131 channels including 7 HD

Samsung TV does not recieve HD however, the aerial goes from wall direct to humax and then out to TV so I guess TV would not get HD this way.

Sorry I don’t agree; no reason why the TV shouldn’t receive HD channels when its signal is being passed through the Humax. Do you have power saving in standby set to off on the Humax?

Aerial is brand new with booster in the loft, installed by professional

Sorry the attachment isn’t helpful. It is the detailed view that might help diagnose the problem. If you have had the aerial installed by a professional then I would say the first thing to do is to discuss the problem with them.

No, removing all power from the box for an hour or so and yet it still does it.

Unusual problem but it doesn’t sound good to me. Time to start talking to the supplier.

    I have 500t

I recently moved house and had to do a channel search. It will not find HD channels. I have the numbers to do a manual search for Winter Hill and also changed transmission to DVB-T2 to no avail.

I have also re set to factory.

    Any help greatly appreciated

What does the Freeview channel checker report https://www.freeview.co.uk/freeview-channel-checker

When you get the initial report click on detailed view to get more details. What do you know about the aerial at your new address? Do other devices eg the TV get HD channels?

Did all the usual things of powering down and rebooting and changing the HDMI lead and so on but it is just showing the same thing all the time.

When you say powering down, can I check, are you just putting the box in standby and restarting or actually removing the electrical power for a short period?

I think HumaxRW will extract recordings from the 9300 machine but Martin Liddle might have more knowledge about such things.

I agree that HumaxRW is the tool to use; like you I believe it should work on the hard drive from a 9300T but never having owned a 9300T I can’t be sure. I think most Humax recorders will allow the recordings to be played in one way or another but getting them into the onscreen list of recordings may not be possible.

Volume on top box is really low.Can boost with TV control but when reverting to freeview on the TV the sound is deafening. Any solutions please.

Are you connecting the 9300T to the TV via SCART or HDMI?

I tried all the things that were put to me by Humax to clear it, including getting a signal regulator. Eventually They asked for my Post code. At that point I was told by them that it would not work, and to return it on Both occasions. So I asked how come the 5000t was stable, but the Humax wasn’t. The reply was that the Aura tuners were a cheaper version, and that would not change on them even though they caused a Funnelling problem within the system.

I do think the Aura has tuners that are weaker than the FVP-5000T but I assumed this was because after DSO there were more cases of people having problems due to the signal being too high and the tuners saturating than people like you in marginal areas not having satisfactory reception.

I remember that the Administrator of this Forum( I think his name was Graham )

I think you mean Barry who is the administrator and certainly has had links to Humax but I don’t know the current situation; Graham Thompson was a leading member of the forum but sadly died suddenly a couple of years ago.

Does anyone know if Humax is working on a replacement box for the Aura.

It is a reasonable question to ask but I don’t think anyone here is likely to know (or if they do they probably wouldn’t be able to say anything). You might try phoning Humax and telling them you are considering the Manhattan box and ask if they could give any hints about future Humax developments.

Asa matter of interest what is the signal strength and quality reported by the FVP-5000T? There were signal strength issues with early Humax boxes and I think Humax acknowledged that they had found that some tuners were marginal (and I think boxes were replaced) but we haven’t as far as I can recollect had many recent problems.

If I could sort the networking problem out I’d be satisfied. I have installed samba but network just sees this FVP-5000T DIAL SERVER

What are you hoping to do with Samba?

To be honest Martin I just want to get some channels like Failarmy, which just say, “Connect your freeview device to the Internet for more great TV” Iplayer would be a bonus, but if I could access the Internet all the better. Do I need a dongle? The Edimax Ew-7711uan seems the most recommended for my humax box? Thanks Paul

I don’t think a dongle will help. There are two types of IPTV and I think the HDR-1800T only supports the earlier standard MHEG see https://www.freeview.co.uk/help/viewing-ip-channels

I don’t know for sure whether Failarmy is using only HbbTV but if it is it will explain your problem.

    Cycled router to no avail.

Do I need to set up the portal somewhere first?

Exactly what message are you getting when trying to connect to the portal? I assume you are wanting to use iPlayer?

I am connected via ethernet cable to my HDR-1800t router, and the Humax thinks it is connected via a diagram, but the portal says I am not connected, check internet..

Is it a cable all the way to the router or you do you have Homeplug (or similar) ethernet over power devices making the connection? Was the setup working and has stopped working or is this a new setup? Have you tried changing the cable? Have you tried power cycling the router?

Thanks for a quick reply.. I need a perspective on this other than my single experience with Humax.. LOL

I live near (15 mile from the strongest transmitter in UK (four oaks/Sutton Coldfield) and never had a guide (6 or more?- TalkTalk Freeview recorders) with sections of ‘no program information’ I suspect but don’t know for certain that the information is in the box but not displayed as an instant off and back on brings up the missing part of the guide I was looking at.

I have a feeling that we have seen this problem before but I can’t remember when or what the solution was. Anyone with a better memory able to help?

I’m wondering if the Aura is worth trying out as it also has ITVx apparently.

I am always nervous about recommending the Aura as some people hate it and others (like me) are prepared to put up with its issues. It definitely has ITVX. I would wait for a day or so to see if you have other responses and then make your mind up.
