Does anyone have any info on what (if any) other Apps we can expect to see for the TV Portal in the next year or two?
I doubt you will get much of significance; the effort will go into the new YouView box.

Any suggestions or thoughts are much appreciated as I thought I’d ask first before having to take it back to the store and exchange the unit.
If it has done that several times then take it back and exchange it as a correctly functioning unit should only show that behaviour very, very rarely.
Barry, Can I suggest the Biggles manual tuning instructions are made a FAQ (and preferably near the top of the list).

It records 75% of the programs that it is set to do, but often refuses to record random programs like coronation street.
I have had a look on a couple of forums and think that maybe I need to upgrade the firmware, but I don’t have any cables.
How can I receive an OTA software update??
First tell us what software version the box is currently using. My gut feeling would be that the most likely problem is that the box is not properly tuned see the third post in the following thread http://myhumax.org/forum/topic/pixelating-channels-34-5-on-9300t
Have you considered the possibility of poorly made connections or water ingress to the aerial cabling? This has some times been reported to give problems on a single multiplex.
I would be tempted to wipe everything and format a single FAT32 partition. It doesn’t matter much as the Humax will wipe it and start again.

Turned on in the morning and it wanted to format it self but it cant,just hangs in boot up,if i put the 1tb in a usb cradle it wants me to format it using a pc.
I would guess that Linux has detected a problem with the file system and mounted it read only.
Is there anyway of making my hard drive like new again so my humax will format it by its self(dont want to and cant do the the Linux thing).
Attach it to a PC and let Windows format it. The Humax will then reformfat it.

The problem is that after about an hours running, the picture starts to break up.My thought is that the PSU may have a faulty capacitor
It could be rather a lot of things. Is the break up present both when watching live and when watching recordings? Is the unit still under warranty (two years)?

4. I am told there are issues with files bigger than 4 Gb,which may be relevant for HD programs or manual recording. I don’t know the details of this.
This is fixed at software version 1.02.27

Where is the setting to turn Accurate Recording on?
I have previously had padding set to 2 mins start and 5 mins end, but was still missing the beginning of some programs so have set them to zero hoping this would use “Accurate Recording” but now things appear to start bang on time and missing the beginning of most things…
On which channels? Accurate recording works very well for us on the major channels.

I had: HDR Fox T2, Apple TV, phone socket, ethernet cable, telly.
That list does not include a modem/router. You need to connect the HDR to the router so that it can talk to the outsie world.

The first thing to try would be a reset to default settings followed by a manual tune to your local transmitter.

I can still pause and re-wind live TV by the way, for now! But I’m getting a bit desperate because I do record programmes most days and really rely on my PVR.
Sorry I am a bit confused. Exactly what is your problem?
