I wonder if anyone could offer me some advice, please? My 9300T is still on Loader version 4.35, which I think is out of date. I have tried searching for new software automatically and manually and get the message that no new software is available.
The loader isn’t usually updated OTA only the main software. What problem are you having that you think a later loader version would help with?
A second (related?) issue is that when I turn on the 9300T I get nothing but snow on the TV. I have to turn off the 9300T, wait a minute, and then turn it back on to get any reception. After that it is fine, but it always needs on-off-on to get it working. Is this common?
How is the 9300 connected to the TV?

Sorry, but why should I know what software I’m using.
I am trying to help you, believe it or not. You could be suffering from one of a number of problems. To try and diagnose the problem remotely in a vaguely scientific way we need some input from you. On the Humax Remote press Menu; then select System then select Status and tell us the Software version and the System ID. Obviously if you didn’t come here for help in resolving the problem then there is no point in answering. However most people do actually come for assistance and the Forum members do manage to resolve a reasonably high percentage of problems (but sadly not a hundred percent).

ParticipantThe problem has been reported a number of times and a number of solutions have been suggested (filters on the mains, aerial out reset to default settings etc) but I don’t recollect any permanent solution being found.

Martin, are you employed by Humax?
Most certainly not. Would you care to tell us what software version your box is running so we can see if we can resolve your problem (Menu>System>Status if I remember correctly). Software version and System ID would both be helpful.

Ever since digital switchover, I have experienced problems. It usually happens every Wednesday, when I cannot change channels, record, pause, etc.,. Also the clock “sticks”. But, unfortunately, it’s also happened today, a Friday.
Which Humax box do you have? the usual reason for the symptoms you describe is running an old version of the software. Can you tell us what version the box is running?
I thought all I had to do was format the hard disc and everything would be alright – but, no, all it did was to delete all my recorded programmes which is so distastrous. How do I get them back?!
Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings but just like a computer, formatting the drive will permanently delete all recordings. Theoretically it might be possible to recover them but as no one has written software to do it then they are lost.
I have contacted BBC’s “Watchdog”, re-iterating some of the above, but have not received the courtesy of a reply. Perhaps if you would all contact them then something might be done.
But most of us are not suffering the problems you describe, Yes all the Humax boxes have some niggles but then so do all the other PVRs and most are worse than the Humax.

I don’t get sound when I playback recorded HD channels, all other channels are fine, any ideas?.
One cause of this is using an old software version. What software version is your box using?

s/w: HPRSFCI 1.00.21
What model of Humax do you have? I am assuming from the s/w version you are quoting it isn’t a 9150, 9300 or 9200.

when i press a button on the remote is that it scrolls non stop through all the channels.
Are you sure that there isn’t a remote for another device somewhere in the room with one of its buttons held down by a book or similar? Are there any fluorescent lamps in the room?

My settings are as follows:
IP address 169.254..113.116.
Netmask 255.255.0.0
Gateway 0.0.0.0
DNS 0.0.0.0
Something very wrong there. How is the Humax connected to your network?

Could it be my internet settings?
Quite possibly but you need to tell us what the settings are for someone to comment.

I live in the northwest region, and when I have tried to re tune my Humax pvr it tunes in to west midlands also the picture is breaking up. any help please.
You need to say what model of Humax PVR you have. You need to manually tune the box; if it is a 9200/9150/9300 then try Biggles Manual Tuning instructions

This appeared to go OK, but now anything she records after a few minutes says that it is scrambled and stops playing.
The most likely explanation is that the file system has become corrupt. If that is the case then formatting the disk from the HDD Control Menu will fix the problem.

When I record an HD channel there’s no sound on playback,
You need to tell us which Humax box you have. One possibility if it is a Freeview box, is that you are using an old software version,.

I am just going through resetting my schedule after it was wiped in the re-tune.
When selecting a prog on BBC; BBC2; ITV1 or C4 before re-tune, it would suggest the HD version if there was one now it never does.
I take it you can access the HD versions via the guide? Here I am seeing HD alternative offered on BBC1 but not ITV.

Isn’t custom firmware for the Foxsat?
No; there is (different) custom firmware for FOXSAT and the HD Freeview boxes.
