IS it possible to connect freesat to tv via T1010 as freeview reception is sometimes not good
No. You need a Freesat box.

Has anyone found an easy way to transfer programs from a 9200t Humax to a 9300t Humax Humax help tell me its not possible
The only theoretical way to do it would be using humaxrw; unfortunately there have been a number of reports suggesting there is a bug in humaxrw that affects writing files to the 9300/9150 (but not the 9200). If you were prepared to work with the author of humaxrw then it might be possible to fix the bug but that doesn’t meet your criterion of being easy.

These could be subject to change, so do not hold me to them

HDR 2000T – Dual tuner freeview PVR
Barry, any hints as to how it differs from the HDR-FOX T2?

Can you please help. I would like to be able to control the Humax by a Samsung tablet or iPad. Does such an app exist? Also although I can see the device on our network I don’t seem to be able to do much other than view files. Is there a download that allows me some control functionality via a PC
I think you are looking for the custom firmware which amongst other things has a virtual remote control to allow the Humax to be operated from another device. See http://wiki.hummy.tv/wiki/Custom_Firmware_Overview

what is dhcp is there a way of checking if the router as it
DHCP is the protocol that the router uses to allocate local IP addresses to devices. I would be very surprised if any router did not support DHCP. If you log into the routers control panel and look around you should find a reference to DHCP; alternatively tell us the make and model of router.

To clarify were those instructions executed on the HDR via remote terminal?
Yes. The basic custom firmware is essential to do it this way.

I’m on the Dover transmitter and assume I have the correct aerial type as its been perfect for the 14 months I’ve had it. Software version is 1.02.29 but I’m having trouble updating as it just seems to search for ages without doing anything.
Version 1.02.32 has never been transmitted over the air for some unknown reason although it was installed on machines coming off the production line for some months and has now been replaced by another un-issued version (1.03.06) on new boxes. You can download 1.02.32 from Link to Humax download site and install from a USB pen drive in less than 10 minutes.
Btw BBC is 100% on 809-818 and HD just not on 1,2,7,9,80
Not sure why you are trying to tune to channel 54. As I read the information the correct multiplex channel numbers for Dover are 48, 50 (this is the BBC mux), 51, 53 (this is the HD mux), 55 and 59.
So your options are to upgrade to 1.02.32 or to manually tune. I suggest using the instructions at Link to manual tuning FAQ

I’ve had no problems with my fox-t2 up until my last rescan. Basically it’s channel 54 that now has only 30% strength and 10% -20% quality and is unwatchable. I’ve rescanned a number of times to no avail.
What software version is the Humax using? 1.02.32 is significantly better at doing a decent job of automatic tuning.

I had hoped reformatting the disk might have helped, but it made no difference.
OK I agree this is probably a disk problem. At a guess the Humax is struggling to reallocate a disk sector. The reason a format doesn’t help is that the format on the Humax is the equivalent of a quick format on Windows where the disk is not tested and a blank file system is written. Taking the disk out and formatting it in a PC would quite possibly resolve the problem but as the box is under warranty then getting the supplier to sort it out is the correct course of action.

I spoke today with Technical Support at the department store where I bought it, and they say this is most likely caused by read/write errors on the hard disk – ie the hard disk needs replacing.
Does this happen on programs recorded from all channels (in which case the diagnosis sounds right) or is it only on recordings of a particular series?

I’m grateful. Can you suggest a Humax model which is more reliable?
The HDR-FOX T2 does not suffer from this problem and improves on the performance of the older boxes in various ways. There are suggestions that Humax will release a new HD box before too long but no dates or features are available at the moment.

My TV is great and I wish To get it sorted because nothing on the market today does all the things I want from my tele.
You haven’t actually said what problem(s) you have with the TV?

A recently purchased 9150 ought to have had the latest software installed as the current software, version 26, has been around for two years.
But this could be a second hand purchase.

Sorry to sound thick, but how do I default to factory settings 😯 and will that then delete all the programmes we have saved?
From the Installation menu select Default Setting. Pin is 0000 (unless you have changed it). It will not delete recordings.

– I do love the HDR Fox T2 but if i get a replacement is this problem very likely to happen again because ill just get my money back and try a different brand
Start off by telling us how old your HDR is, what version of software it is using and the make and model of TV.
