I have a similar problem after only 18 months – very disappointed with the Humax quality that drives go in such a short time. I formatted the disc as required but still not working.

Humax don’t manufacture the hard drives and there is only a limited choice of suppliers; even so it should last longer than 18 months. If you run the HDD Test by pressing Menu then selecting System>Data Storage>HDD Test what does it report? Is your box still under warranty?

I read somewhere that it is possible to transfer a recording from the HDR 2000T hardisk to a usb memory stick.

    Yes providing it is SD.

I have tried everything I know but no success. Can anyone

tell me how to do it.

    So what have you tried?

The other question I have is should the USB memory stick be

    formatted to FAT32 or NTFS

Either should work. FAT32 has a maximum file size of 4GB.

I agree with Barry. Try pressing Menu then Settings>System>Signal Detection. Press right arrow and tell us the list of multiplex channel numbers that you see and the intended transmitter.

As its a Mac, I have been to System Preferences / Sharing / Services and ticked the boxes for FTP Access and personal and DVD sharing.

Does that turn on a DLNA server on the Mac? A bit of googling suggests not but some of the hits were quite old.

Having upgraded from a 9200T to the new 2000T I find it takes around 20 to 25 seconds for a picture to appear after switching on the Humax.

Ours is much quicker. I would guess that it is the HDMI negotiation. What make and model of TV?

The OP mentioned 4oD as one of the things he’s looking to get.

But the Now TV box claims to have 4OD. Are you certain that it doesn’t?

I have ITV Player via via my foxsat HDR and iPlayer via my Sony TV but i sometimes need catch up tv from 4oD and demand5, so having asked around last few days i was going to go the route of Samsung BluRay player for about £100,

Have you considered a Now TV box for £10?

Does anyone know the procedure to report these issues to Humax so they can get fixed?

Posting them here with the sort of detail you have provided is a pretty good method. You can also try emailing Humax support.

Padding has never been set on my Humax. I have confirmed that start and end padding times are off.

I think Luke got it the wrong way round. You need to turn off accurate recording i.e. enable padding if receiving from more than one transmitter,

Must find out how to shorten hypertext links :-)

On this Forum you click on URL to insert a hyperlink; the first dialog that comes up allows you to paste the link, the second one allows you to put in free text.

So i guess that means my Humax is freeview NOT freesat, oops!

So how can i get both the Humax and Tv get signal?

Plug the aerial cable into the Humax aerial in socket. Plug an aerial fly lead into the Humax aerial out and the TV aerial socket. Turn off power saving in standby on the Humax.

    Options:

    1. Get you dongle replaced with another and hope for the best.

    2. Use the Humax one.

    Other options:

    3. Use a network bridge such as TP-Link TL-WR702N at Amazon

    4. Use Homeplug adaptors.

I am pretty certain I receive from Ridge Hill. The channel numbers I see in Signal Detection are: 21, 22, 24, 25, 27, 28, 29.

That looks fine. I assume you can receive ITV (channel 3) OK which is on the same multiplex as Film4?
