I am sure certain progs. are recorded but the 9300T will not play them back. Intermitent problem most play back ok.

Best guess would be that the file system is starting to become corrupt. If that is the case then the fix is to watch any important recordings and then format the drive from the HDD Control menu item in the Record menu.

Unable to access data storage it is greyed out on the menu screen.

Put the box into standby, wait until you hear the disk stop spinning (can take a minute or so), turn off at the mains, wait two minutes, then turn on box and bring out of standby. If it is still greyed out then I would be inclined to think the hard drive has died. Is the box still under warranty (two years if registered with Humax)?

Thanks for quick response. Could you advise how I do Hard disk test and if necessary the custom firmware run fix-disk?

Hard disk test: Menu button>Settings>System>Data Storage>HDD Test

    Custom firmware: start at http://wiki.hummy.tv/wiki/Custom_Firmware_Overview

Can someone please help with my issue. I am unable to access the media button, pause live TV or record anything. I am still able to use the TV guide but when I select media button nothing happens, however when I hit the pause/rewind/forward button a circle with a diagonal line through it appears in the top left of the screen.

I would guess the hard drive has either died or the file system has gone read only. First thing to try would be the hard disk test and see what that says. Your options after that are to install the custom firmware and run fix-disk or to try and format the drive.

Wondering if it could be aerial cable that plugs in the back and into wall, but wouldn’t of that it would just stop working with no warning.

It would at least be worth wiggling it about and see if anything happens; tuner failures are not very common either.

displaying -no or bad signal- Have tried auto search, retune, default etc- now- no channels found-.

Where in the country are you? Which transmitter do you receive from? Is there an amplifier in the aerial system that could have failed?

I am a newcomer desparate to transfer some recordings from my 9200t.I have a R232c to VGA cable so I can connect it to my windows 7 laptop.

Do you really mean RS232 to VGA? I can’t conceive what that would do or do you mean RS232 to USB?

What software do I need to find and download.I have downloaded Humax media controller but it will not open I get a message that “LiBusb0.dLL” is missing, try download again.I have downloaded it a dozen times but it still will not open.

Is your Windows computer running 64 bit Windows? If so you need a version of LibUSB compiled for 64 bit Windows. I know somebody has posted how to do it quite a long time ago but I will dig out the instructions if needed.

Using -p to put the files back I get the message “Oldname _RECORD_LIST_ does not exist” as the copy function starts, the same as this post:

    http://myhumax.org/forum/topic/humaxrw-error-when-restoring-files

I don’t know about that error specifically but there is a known bug that will prevent recordings being replaced on the 9300/9150 although it does work on the 9200. I don’t really understand why you formatted when you had a consistent file system?

Really I need to blow £200 on a new box. Something like the DTR-T1010 which I’ve had my eye on.

Think hard before getting a YouView box. In my view the HDR-2000T or the older HDR-FOX T2 are better PVRs although they don’t have the range of catchup services offered by the YouView boxes.

I can create a new folder on the computer on this drive and the Humax will see it – but can’t create one using the Humax at all.

Is the drive formatted NTFS by any chance? The Humax will read from it but not write to it.

Now to work out why the box hangs when I change to/from some of the services in the 200 range……..

the channels in the 200 range are either Text services or streamed services. The HDR-2000T supports some of the streamed services but at the current time some are reported to give problems; I have no idea whether Humax intend to improve the range of services supported. Which channels give problems?

when I re-formatted the 9300T, it was done in a flash! I was expecting it to take several minutes, but it was done in seconds. Could this be faulty?

No it is completely normal; it only rewrites the file system, the equivalent of a Windows quick format.

My 9300T had started to miss some recordings, so I re-formatted & set it to the default yesterday. Now, I find that it has recorded three programs, but missed another four! Two of which are being transmitted now, & are programmed in the EPG, but are not being recorded.

Are you confident that the box is correctly tuned with all multiplexes coming from a single transmitter (channels numbered above 800 would be one symptom of incorrect tuning)? The fix for incorrect tuning is a manual tune using these instructions (courtesy of Biggles):Manula tuning FAQ

    If I try humaxrw 1: -d 0 I get “Invalid range”

No I said use -D (capital) ie humaxrw 1: -D
