My mothers 9300T stopped working and followed advice here and bought a new disk which have I have installed and formatted successfully (i think).
Start by telling us what make and model of disk you installed.

The PVR9200T has in recent months become steadily worse at responding to the remote control.
I have no idea; if this has got worse in recent months and playback is OK whilst the box is unresponsive (meaning the hard drive is OK) then I would guess at some sort of developing problem in the electronics that detect the signals from the remote (there are occasional problem reports for the later HDR-FOX T2 of a similar nature and changing the front panel fixes the problem). Biggles is far more knowledgeable about such things than I am.

ParticipantA number of people have reported similar findings and the only real fix I have seen is to use manual tuning and omit one of the multiplexes. If it was me I would omit either COM5 (ARQ A) or COM6 (ARQ
.

I have a PVR9200T and a PVR9300T and both exhibit the same problem with the EPG.
The first thing we need to know is what software versions the two boxes are using?

Last night (22.9.14), I was 45 mins through watching a recording and suddenly the screen went dark and the “scrambled” message appeared.
Yes we see this bug very occasionally and have done since the box was new some years ago. I assume Humax are aware of it but something that manifests itself so infrequently will be very difficult to trace and fix.

Further to my previous problems.
In the last week, recordings have failed on BBC2,3,4 and Yesterday(19). ” Recording failed: Unable to track program”.
Also, for the third or fourth time, when it is paused & I “release” it, I get the message that “nothing is being transmitted on this channel” (or something like that) -but I’m on BBC1! BBC2 the same, until I use the program button (P) to go up to ITV (3) then I go back, & BBC1&2 work again.
Which model of Humax box is this?

Having recently retuned the box, my wife clicked on one of the new stations ‘Vintage TV’ and now it appears to be locked on to this station, regardless to what we do – switch on/off/disconnect/everything I can think of.
Vintage TV is an IPTV channel ie content is delivered over the Internet rather than via the aerial and I assume the 9200 doesn’t expect it. What happens if you remove the aerial before powering up; can you then get control to do a reset to default settings? If you can get control then may be worth deleting all the IPTV channels which currently are broadcast channels 225 to 243. to avoid a repetition.

I haven’t changed anything, but perhaps the connection wasn’t quite getting through last night.
Much more likely that it was a problem with the Humax portal which I believe sits on servers in South Korea (at least it did).

how would I know if the SSID is hidden? Is this a setting within my PC, router or Humax? Please advise. Regards
If you are not aware then it is probably not hidden; it is a setting in the WiFi section of the router. It has been known to cause similar problems to those you are reporting on other Humax kit.

Any idea what I might be doing wrong?
Do you have your SSID hidden?

I have done the HDD Reformat and re installed customised firmware etc.
Your choice to waste your time doing the format.
Hard Disk Diagnostics indicate a High Reallocated_Sector_Ct (619)
619 reallocated sectors isn’t particularly high; some people are using boxes with several thousand reallocated sectors. It is a flag to keep an eye on the disk.
and also Current_Pending_Sector
& Offline_Uncorrectable =1.
That is likely to be the cause of your problems. Have you tried running the custom firmware fix-disk routine?
Any suggestions as to source of a good reliable HDD suitable for use in the Humax T2 Fox PVR ?
My experience is that the more recent Seagate AV drives are more reliable than the older ones. I would suggest 1 Tb drive or 2 TB drive
I have had the 2TB drive installed for over twelve months and no problems so far and in my view is worth a few pounds more.

Recently installed latest customised firmware which allows me to Browse HDD files and run extensive diagnostics.
I wouldn’t be in a hurry to format the disk. As you have Custom Firmware the under Diagnostics>Hard drive what are the values of the following attributes:
5 Reallocated_Sector_Ct
9 Power_On_Hours
197 Current_Pending_Sector
198 Offline_Uncorrectable

i can see from the digitaluk site (for my addy) that winter hill also transmits (i.e. as well as the channels i have indentified) on a mux called “L-man”. however, i can’t find this mux on the channel listing page.
L-MAN is only transmitted at 2kW power as opposed to the main multiplexes which are at 100kW. Let us know if you find out what it carries.

How embarrassing. I have no idea how my brain misfired on that one!
Trust me, I know that feeling all too well.

Installing the web-if on a HD-FOX T2 requires that an external drive is attached.
??? This discussion is about an HDR.
