I will check, however last night, we went to view some of the stuff that we’d recorded and everything on the list had vanished.
OK that is the well know problem of file system corruption. If you are desperate to get the recordings back (and have a modicum of computer skill) you can probably retrieve the majority of the recordings by opening the Humax, attaching the hard drive to a PC and using humaxrw in recovery mode (-r option). Otherwise format the hard drive from the HDD Control menu item in the Record menu. If the same thing happens again within a few weeks then it indicates the hard drive is getting to the end of its life.

It’s not so important now but it has an Ethernet cable to a router extender.
What is a router extender? Do you mean a network switch?

If i can get them off the hard disk I should be able to watch using a laptop running VLC or something similar – it works with my Foxsat HDR.
No it will not work; unlike the FOXSAT the files (yes even SD) will still be encrypted.

I think they have. My 9300T is still working, whereas my HDR-FOX T2 packed up just within warranty and was replaced by the 2000T.
That is a rather small data sample for such a large conclusion. I would say based on extensive reading of Forums both the 9xxx range and HDR-FOX T2 have reasonably reliable hardware (although both have known faults that can affect some boxes); the software for the HDR-FOX T2 is significantly more reliable than for the 9xxx boxes but again has a few quirks. So I think Humax are above average compared to other PVR manufacturers. It is a bit early to form an opinion on the HDR-2000T as we have only just seen the first software update.

OK, thank you – we’ve been getting this quite a lot lately and it appears to be random, has anyone any ideas as to why this is happening?
Could be a number of things. First thing I would check is whether there are channels above 800 in the guide. If there are do a manual tune using the instructions at Link to manual tuning FAQ

ParticipantIt isn’t clear to me whether you are trying to play content from the Humax on your PC or to display content from the PC on the TV via the Humax?

However when I try to connect to my laptop for photos or Videos, it shows the network as available but fails with the message “No server found”.
Has anyone any ideas please?
Is Content Sharing enabled on the Humax? Menu>Settings>System>Internet Setting>Content Sharing

Using TV Portal, I can get BBC iplayer but how can I get ITV player etc please?
Please do not post the same question twice in different sections of the Forum. Sorry but only BBC IPlayer is available; you need an additional streaming box for other services.

The software version is UKTFAC 1.00.07. Is there something later?

My new 2000T shows signal strength of only 10%. A manual search showed the same. My TV and the previous Humax show 55-60%. Is my box faulty or is this a characteristic of this model?
What software version is the box running? There were changes in this area in the latest software.

Yes the tv doesn’t have an hdmi connector available
So with respect you have a different problem and you would be better starting a new thread. Have you tried a different SCART lead?

I downloaded the software 1.01.06 to try to cure a more generic standby problem, but since then the problem as described here has happened twice to me in the last three days.
Are you connecting by SCART?

The 2000T retains all the settings however I have to go through the process of applying it everytime I take the box out of standby (if I want to use the portal or ftp.
You said in your other post that the box is on the original firmware. It would be worth updating to the latest firmware (note I have no idea if it will help with this specific problem).

I have several of these but updated feb 2006 [Australia]. Have been trying – without success to find some firmware software updates for these. I can see the hardware with my win7 64 bit but cannot find any upgrades anyware [if any are worth doing].
If these are UK spec machines then the latest software can be downloaded from this site. See post two in this thread Link to 9200T software. If the “[Australia]” signifies they have a different System ID then I have no idea.
