I understood when you create a network share to a windows 10 device, win10 and/or the humax handled the de-cryption issue and enabled playing SD files or have I misunderstood other posts ?
Is it a standard network share though? it appears in a separate folder and is only Windows 10 (so far). I guess it needs someone with more expertise than I have in networking to understand what is going on. My guess would be that it is somehow using the DLNA server on the Humax to do the decryption (which is the mechanism the custom firmware for the HDR-FOX T2 uses for most decryption tasks).

Is there a simple way to set up a network share on the NAS to the Humax recordings folder and then use Plex as a user interface on my TVs around the house for vieiwng the humax video files.
IF you could set up a network share then how would you propose to deal with the fact that the recordings would still be encrypted?

Aren’t SD recordings copied to external usb HDD decrypted?
Ordinarily yes but not when they are incorrectly flagged as HD which has been happening intermittently on BBC for several months. First reports, as I recollect it, were about SD channels on HD multiplexes but it has also been reported for SD only multiplexes.
Edit: This a link to hummy.tv describing the problem Link to hummy.tv

Is there any way I can stop the BBC from flagging SD channels as HD.
This means that recordings from SD channels (eg. Channel 001) are encoded as for HD channels (eg. Channel 101). As a result I am unable to transfer files to my laptop, to view away from home.
Complain to the BBC or install the custom firmware.

So what’s the point of transferring HD to an external drive if you can’t play it back on your PC or the original box
What makes you think you can’t play HD (copied to USB) on the box that recorded it?

Also, when you say remove encryption, how would one go about doing that ?
For SD content by copying the program on the HDR-2000T to an attached USB disk. HD content would require an extra step discussion of which is not allowed by the Forum rules.

So are you saying that the content I already have on an external drive won’t play on the fvp because it was originally recorded on the 2000.
The content is encrypted not to a model (eg HDR-2000T) but to a specific box. You can only remove the encryption on the specific box that made the recording.

The strength on BBC 1 and BBC 2 is 75% and quality is 100%.
Those readings are close to perfection so unlikely to indicate the problem is signal strength related. Some of the symptoms you describe are known issues with the 9300T (and the 9150T) and seem to affect content that is encoded for transmission in a particular way and it seems highly unlikely that Humax will (or can) do anything about it. The problem doesn’t affect older or more recent models. I am tempted to say your best course of action might be to cut your losses and get a new box.

I have had this DTR-T2000 (my second Humax) since last December. It just freezes and then there is a frozen picture but the sound goes on.
That is usually an indication that the Humax software has crashed. Difficult to know whether it is a software problem or a hardware problem. Have you talked to the retailer about the problem?

I may go down the route you suggested of usb to SATA and copy across to the PC and then onto an external hard drive, which can then be played on the Humax.
Which Humax are you going to play the content on?

I have a Humax PVR 9300 T approx 5 years old . We watch our television and record through the Humax Box. For a while we have sometimes received messages that a particular channel is scrambled or not available . This only involves BBC channels . Often if we record or playback the programme jerks or jumps again only on BBC channels. Also if we are watching direct it tends to freeze for a few seconds several times through a programme . We thought it was a problem with our aerial so had a new aerial fitted and a booster.
I am surprised you needed a booster. What is the signal strength and quality as reported by the Humax on BBC Channels?
The aerial guy said that the BBC channel is very near the mobile phone channel in our area (North Shields, Tyne and Wear) 90 something I think he said .
I assume he was talking about possible 4G interference.

When watching BBC1 SD through the Humax box there picture keeps freezing for a second or so while the sound continues on. If I switch to BBC 1 HD the picture is fine. Watching BBC SD directly through the TV the picture is also fine. I have had a new arial fitted with new cabling. When I check the signal strength through the box I get for BBC1SD strength 90% Quality 100% for BBC1HD I get strength 100% quality 100%. Any Advice?
Your signal strengths may be too high. The fix would be to try a variable attenuator in the aerial feed (or if there is an amplifier try removing it) eg Link to attenuator on ebay

Only works with two HDR-FOX-T2’s. Afaik they are the only Humax UK boxes that have TCP-IP (protected) server/clients.
Minor point, an HD-FOX T2 will also act as a client to an HDR-FOX T2.

Guys, topic, please
Did I miss your appointment as a moderator?
It’s called hijacking the thread. It is neither polite, nor helpful.
It is called a discussion going off at a tangent which sometimes is interesting, sometimes not. It happens on most forums. It is in my opinion for the moderators to make the calls about what is acceptable; not members with a low post count.
So the number of my posts affects my ability to have an opinion?
I have invested vast amounts of time in helping people on this forum and several other forums on various subjects. I think that qualifies me to have an opinion on how things should be conducted. What exactly have you contributed?
On topic – have you experienced any issues with encryption not being removed, when transferring SD files from the FVP-4000p, Martin?
None whatsoever.
