Might be a silly question but if i have HDR Fox T2 in one room, and want the same access to Freeview channels on another telly (flatscreen but not smart) in the next room, do i need to buy a whole new Humax Box?
Do you just want to watch content recorded on the HDR-FOX T2? If so a second hand HD-FOX T2 might be the cheapest way to do it; you can pick them up for less than £50 on ebay.

I gave the minitools program a go; the Seagate drive would not work using it as FAT32 in any segment size (I tried them all) or NTFS, it was also unrecognisable to the PS3.
What capacity is the Seagate drive?

Well, lo and behold, it all happened again this year after the clocks went back.
Tonight I had 3 recordings set – series link on Poldark and Tutankhamun (both starting at 2100) and the BBC news at 2200 set to record weekly from 22.00 to 22.35 (to record the national and local news and weather all in one recording).
Anyone have the same problem and/or any suggestions how to overcome it.
I think it is working as designed. Series link programs will work correctly but manually set recordings will be out by an hour. I think the only solution is to wait until the clocks have changed then alter the manually scheduled recordings.

To write the programs to the new hard disk
I don’t own an FVP-4000T so can’t be sure but my understanding is that you can only copy files to the Download folder on the FVP-4000T. If that folder is available from Samba then perhaps you could map it and then make it the current directory on the PC then run humaxrw and that should then copy files from the 9300T disk and place them in the Download folder. Maybe an FVP-4000T can confirm whether or not this is possible.

Have found out that he has bought a FVP 4000T
So should have network access and USB access. Just need to get something to write the stuff back to the new disk.
Don’t suppose the Humaxrw will work with it ?
In what way do you want humaxrw to work?

I am going to try to copy from the 9300t and then add to a newer tv recorder for my Dad.
OK that should work. You will only need the .ts file as the other files associated with a recording have different formats on different Humax boxes.

Please could you tell me if the HumaxRW download will work to read an PVR 9300t disk
Humaxrw will read from a 9300T but may not be able to write data back. What are you trying to do?
Also how I prevent the disk being loaded by windows into the device manager.
If Windows requests permission to initialise the device refuse the request.

I have pretty much reached the conclusion that it is something in the transmission from some broadcasters which the box cannot cope with and basically there is nothing which we, as consumers, can do other than buy another box which does not suffer from this.
Yes that is the conclusion I reached. As far as I know this problem doesn’t affect the earlier 9200 nor any of the later models ie it only affects the 9300 and 9150
I read reviews of later models in the hope of finding one but every time I think I have identified one it seems someone reports this same fault.
Are you sure it is the same fault? Several things can produce picture break up but these are usually correctable by the user.

I’ve thought of cleaning out the box and returning it to manufacturers settings, but would this delete recordings?
You can certainly try and it will not delete your existing recordings. It will delete the schedule of future recordings. I am doubtful that it will help with your problem if it is only certain programs that suffer from the problem.

I see no reason why it should suddenly start failing to record unless something else outside the house has changed.
There have been forced retunes that may have caused the problems.

I re-scanned for programmes today and it found 39 TV stations and told me to select only one region (is this what you mean?), which I did – waiting to see if it fails again tonight
If you are still getting failures then I would suggest a manual tune using the instructions at https://myhumax.org/forum/topic/transmitters#post-2336

I’ve had no problems recording till recently when both BBC (1 or HD) Eastenders and ITV HD (Emmerdale) failed to record with this message. They were both OK on 11 October and not on the 10 or after 11 October. Holby City (BBC1 HD)was OK. Any ideas?
Is the box tuned correctly to a single transmitter?

Both
Are the HD recordings still encrypted? Did you copy just the .ts file or the supporting files as well. I suspect the supporting files will be in a different format so perhaps try renaming them (or moving them to a different directory) on an SD recording and see if it will play.

I’ve moved files from my HDR2000T on an external hard drive and can see them on the FVP4000T menus but they appear to be the wrong format / codec.
Are these SD or HD recordings?

Can do with the new one (certificated etc), so will try it tomorrow.
Good point though, if it is dead I’ll be kicking myself.
It is worth checking. I have had some shockingly bad drives supplied to me as new drives which were very, very secondhand and went straight back whence they came.
