From other posts I understand there are utilities which allow you to access the hard drive, these are:-

    HumaxRW

    Hummy ReadFiles

    HumaxCheck

Sorry but that is completely wrong. Those are utilities that are specific to the earlier Humax Freeview models 9200T, 9150T and 9300T. They are of absolutely zero use for any other box.

The problem only occurs when I try to set remote recordings accessing the using an android device to access the myhumax.net website.

Have you considered using the Android app rather than a browser; see https://myhumax.org/forum/topic/remote-recording

Afaik no one in the UK should be in a monopoly position as to who they choose to pay their bills too.

Is Hull still a special case?

So i have had a hard drive fail on me and wanted to know what hard drive would be best to replace it with?!

I assume you are certain that the problem is the hard drive and not the issue where a component on the Humax motherboard fails and makes the hard drive inaccessible?

had a play about but not sure how to proceed. did the -p and it says partition found at

If you are confident you are looking at the correct disk then you need to add a -w parameter to actually write the changes to the disk and make them permanent. I wouldn’t use the -a parameter unless you think there is significant corruption. See if humaxrw will copy off the programs first; you only need the .ts files.

anyway are a bit of googling, i went into storage management on my win 7 machine, and the HDD was coming up as unallocated so i created a new volume without format

The first thing to do will be to use humaxcheck with a -p argument to reverse that changes.

I have a Humax HDR – 2000T and have recently acquired an indoor aerial which is attached to “Aerial IN”. From “Aerial OUT” there is a connection to my LG Ultra HD TV set. I am 3.1 miles from the transmitter with clear line of sight. However, while this set gives me a perfect picture on the TV set, when I try to use the HDR I get a screen message “The receiver is not receiving a signal or the signal is too weak”. The strange things is that if I select a HD programme I get a perfect picture.

Tell us what the signal strength as reported by the Humax is on the HD channels that you can receive? (Menu button>Settings>System>Signal detection. Press right arrow (to the right of OK) and tell us the list of numbers. What transmitter is it that you can see?

Bought an HDR-2000T on Monday and noticed no problems apart from the volume control not working when watching an HD channel – though I could control the volume with my TV remote.

Well known issue; if it bothers you change the audio output type to “Stereo”; Menu button>Settings>preferences>Audio

I would suggest reading this FAQ post on this site https://myhumax.org/forum/topic/how-to-fix-hard-drive-and-file-system-problems (Note the instructions are slightly out of date and the current recommended version would be HDR_FOX_T2_1.03.12_mod_3.10.zip (could a mod update the FAQ please)). The reason this is a better approach than the installing older firmware suggested by Barry is that the delete problem is also often accompanied by minor corruption to the file system and the older firmware will not correct that problem.

Admin Edit: FAQ updated as requested.

He previously had problems with the Sony TV not tuning in to the HD channels but this was cured by the installation of an aerial attentuator as the local TV installer said it was getting too much signal. Could the box now be getting too weak a signal to tune?

If you can tell us the signal strength and quality for the BBC SD channel as reported by the Humax we can make an educated guess.

The Wiki link for the HumaxRw program just says the Wiki subscription has expired and won’t allow access. Does the Wiki owner need to pay the bill or is the download available somewhere else? Trying to get my files off my PVR.

Always worth checking the FAQs here; see https://myhumax.org/forum/topic/humaxrw (links at bottom of post).

Im almost at the stage of thinking stuff it and invalidating the guarantee so I can line it with soundproofing sheets and check the hard drive has standard mounting points so it can be exchanged by me.

It has been reported that a little warming with a hair dryer will enable the warranty sticker to be opened without damage.

Does anyone know where I can get another mother board from.

I have checked the power supply and have 12vdc output, the mother board is very hot and there are no lights on the front panel. The part number on the board is 01004-00561.

What model of Humax recorder do you have?

Second choice would be return to them for assessment but I want a guarantee of a new looking one back.

The vast majority of people who get exchange units are happy with the exterior appearance.
