My Humax has suddenly randomly stopped recording, and came up with this message – ‘Recording failed: the maximum number of files per folder was reached’.

It will not record when I set it in advance, or when I actually press record on live television. The only way I have found that it will record, is if I rewind live television and then press record.

Please can you tell us the model number of your Humax PVR; I am guessing it might be a PVR-9200T or 9300T or 9150T but trying to give advice without knowing would be silly.

I think it’s a bug with the Humax Aura’s android implementation.

    Has anyone else tried this?

I can’t remember anyone else asking this question. I suspect you may be right that it is quite possibly a bug.

Recently got rid of virgin STB but kept the router(save money) replaced it with a Humax 9300t pvr. Hmdi connected to TV,, don’t know where to connect the coax from the router to the Humax.??? The hmdi port is taken,as so are the two coax ports on the Humax..

I am pretty sure a Humax 9300T doesn’t have any Internet capability so would not need a connection to the router. Later Humax boxes do have Internet connectivity but beware that on many of them the various players no longer work.

Hi, I’ve had to get a universal remote due to loss of my old Humax remote. I easily linked it to the tv in seconds but I don’t know how to link it to the freeview box to be able to turn the channels over? Please can anyone help? I’ve been two hours last night on this :(

Please could you tell us which make and model of universal remote you have purchased and which model of Humax Freeview box you own?

My Aura has a habit of about once a week of doing a full start up (dots, welcome messages etc) when I bring it out of standby despite not having any deep sleep set.

That is completely normal. It was introduced in one of the software updates and I would guess it was intended as a temporary fix for a memory leak (or similar) but then the software development was abandoned.

It also drops audio for short bursts regularly so I’ll add this to its list of faults!

Have you tried changing options on the TV relating to the HDMI port that the Humax is connected to? There have some reports of the most unlikely settings giving problems so it is worth trying changing each setting individually and see if any help with the problem.

Are you sure you haven’t changed the code for the 5000T with the old remote control, asking as you have an Aura (re your post on the Aura forum) and if they are in the same room you would have had to changed the code on one of either the 5000T or Aura remotes. Without doing that the remotes would be operating both Humax devices.

Agreed, it is what I was trying to say in my first post.

Can you confirm the new remote control is working by using your mobile phones camera and pressing any buttons on the new remote with the infra red emitter pointed at the camera.

Surely the remote must be working as it is turning on the Aura?

The new remote doesn’t work at all! The power button lights up red but doesn’t turn on the FVP but does turn on my Aura!

Had you changed the remote control mode from the default of 1? If so, see https://myhumax.org/forum/topic/multi-code-function-fvp-remote for the procedure to change it on the new remote.

It was set at one cable. When I went to change it to two cables it said “Do you want to change the antenna system? All channels will be deleted” so I naturally didn’t press it!

I would suggest the first thing to do is to look at the cable connections at the back of the box and check that everything is tight.

Could you tell us how many cables are connected to the Foxsat please? Also could you try this and report the result:

Go into the setup menu then press in succession Red Green Yellow Blue Green Yellow Blue.

    A menu should open

Antenna Setting should be Fixed Antenna

Connection Type should be Two Cables (same)

Just use VLC player on PC – scroll down to UPNP then click aura to see files -play the file you want

Click on tools then media info then copy file location

Then paste in your browser and it will download it

( of course convert files first on aura)

What the OP said he wanted to do was “I want to then play the files back on my PC with the files from the USB stick.” which your DLNA solution won’t do.

I have done as you said, but am still getting an error message.

The IP address should be in the Host field and “Aura” should be in the user field.

Unfortunately, this doesn’t explain why it misses the start of programs, or in some cases, only records as little as 12 min of a program. This doesn’t happen very often, though.

    Would a factory reset help?

The thing most likely to help would be a manual tune to ensure you are receiving from a single transmitter: see https://myhumax.org/forum/topic/manual-tuning-instructions-1 (note the first URL is now https://www.freeview.co.uk/platform-management) and take the Detailed Transmitter Option. Note this won’t help if the reason for missing part of a programme is due to a late change in start or finish time; sadly the FVP-5000T is less capable in this respect than the earlier HDR-FOX T2 or the broadcaster uses incorrect data. User prpr over at https://hummy.tv has software that monitors the broadcast data and can confirm whether or not it was correct.

Downloaded Filezilla server package but getting error messages.

I think you mean that you downloaded the client package. You need to click on the “Site manager” icon immediately below “File” and that will being up a screen where you can fill in ALL the details I provided in post #3.

The second image suggests you are using the Filezilla server package when I think you should be using the Filezilla client (the Aura is in this case the FTP server).

I have a Humax Aura 2TB Smart Freeview 4K TV Recorder and want to download video files from the recorder to a USB stick. I want to then play the files back on my PC with the files from the USB stick. I have downloaded Filezilla onto my PC but am having trouble connecting the PC to the Humax. I have sent screenshots of my setup and the error messages I am getting. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

Unfortunately the screenshots haven’t made it to the forum, probably a file size issue.

If it helps the Filezilla settings I use are:

Protocol: FTP – file transfer protocol

Host: the IP address of the Aura

    Port: 2323

    Encryption: Only use plain FTP

    Logon type: Normal:

    user: aura

Password : box pin default 0000

If you are using those settings the tell us the text of the error messages. I assume you have enable the FTP server in the Aura settings?
