Chosen Turn on file and printer sharing or Turn off file and printer sharing, and tap Save changes.

I think you are missing a step. After turning on file and printer sharing go down to the bottom of the same screen and choose “All networks” and then under “Media Streaming” select “Choose media streaming options” and then click on the “Turn on Media Streaming” button.

Had this message with one particular recording of Football On Five: Goal Rush, recorded on Sat 18th March, when trying to play it back. First time its ever happened and just wondered if anyone else has come across it?.

To me this sounds like the problem that affects the HDR-FOX T2 where very occasionally it will forget its encryption keys and hence can no longer decrypt recordings. the only known work around is to power cycle the box. We see it once or twice a year and have done since very early in the life of the box.

have just checked BBC1 (Ch 49) and the signal strength is 76%, Quality is 100%.

BBC1 HD (Ch 58) and the signal strength is 78%, Quality is 100%.

Those values are good. Not sure what is going on. Is it possible to temporarily connect the Humax to the bedroom aerial and see if it will find the ARQ A multiplex? If it will then you need to look carefully at the other aerial cable looking for kinks, badly made joints or water ingress; if it won’t then I am struggling for further ideas.

I recently bought a Humax HDR-1100S to use on Freesat, however it often misses the end of programmes that I record.

Is there an easy way to automatically add an extra few minutes to the end of a recording to ensure that I get the whole programme?.

Perhaps you could start by listing a few of the programs that are being truncated including the channel and time you are recording them?

I looked a the Waltham transmitter website and obtained the freeview channel Nos. which were listed there. The channel nos. are: 26, 29, 31, 37, 49, 54, 56, 57 & 58.

Those channels are correct. If you tune to BBC1 SD what is the signal strength and quality reported by the Humax? and also when tuned to BBC1 HD?

Hi Martin, thanks for the reply, sorry about the delay . My recommended transmitter is Sutton Coldfield but I have always been set up for Waltham (as are all houses in the Close).

So when you are doing a manual tune what multiplex channel numbers are you using?

Since Freeview introduced Quest red on channel 38 we have been unable to get reception on channels 38 and several others.

So what dies the coverage checker at http://www.digitaluk.co.uk/operations/about_the_coverage_checker say about your likely reception for the ARQ A multiplex? What transmitter are you receiving from?

It sounds like at some point they’ll disappear again but just now they’re back so I’m happy.

Keep a copy of the link Barry has provided so that if they do vanish again you can contact Humax and arrange a repair.

Is it possible to record a show from (typically) BBCiPlayer on the HDR Fox T2 accessed via the TV Portal? Nothing happens when you press the “Record” button.

You save the download with the custom firmware; try https://wiki.hummy.tv/wiki/Custom_Firmware_Overview

    Can I recover them? .

First thing to try is to put the box into standby, wait for a minute, switch off the electrical power to the box, wait 5 minutes and then power up again. Are the recordings back?

So.the problem must lie with a wireless setting or two.

I.ll take a note of IT Addresses within both devices.Anything else I would need to look at?

The first thing to do would be to open a command prompt on the PC and ping the IP address of the Humax. If you get no response then the problem is the different subnets and you will need to look at the router settings to see if it can be resolved by having the Wireless IP addresses allocated on the same subnet.

    MP4 Video (.mp4)

I would have expected mp4 to work; do they play if copied to the Humax?

One wonders if a box exchange would help.

That is certainly the route I would be going down.
