the TV is an LG55 UJ701V…this one;
Interesting. There is a known problem with HDMI sound between the HDR-FOX T2 and recent LG televisions (ours is a 49UJ750V) which results in momentary drop outs in the audio although not as frequently as once a minute. This is the first report I have seen for later Humax models. It may of course not be related but it is a cause for concern. I suggest talking to Humax support on the phone and trying the box with a different make of TV.

Audio
The audio out through HDMI drops out momentarily at least once a minute – this is not limited to particular channels.
What make and model of TV please?

Because the BBC have recently removed IPlayer from my Samsung TV I need to access IPlayer through my HDR2000T. I have successfully connected to the network using the Humax wifi dongle but when I connect to the TV Portal I get the revolving star symbol and then nothing. TV Portal is running in the background as pressing exit results in “Humax TV Portal has ended.”
What software version is the HDR-2000T running? There was a recent update that was IPlayer related.

I am going to retrieve the ts files onto pc
Just to add to Graham’s comments you can play the .ts file from the PC using various media player programs such as VLC.

20;00-20;30
20;30–21;00
20;30–21;00
…….ALL listed as 4 hours but of course that is due to ” shortening rounding” and all should record with no probs.
Could you provide the channels please? Excuse my ignorance but what is “shortening rounding”?

Tried that – no joy. Stations scroll regardless of remote’s presence.
No joy with remote restart.

Good afternoon all!
The recording schedule seems a little weird. It tells me that I have six recordings in five hours time. I thought there might be clashes. But on closer look, the box seems to calculate the hours number based on when the programme finishes recording …… not when it starts ….. I think. So this has slightly odd consequences in the list with some recordings that “appear” to be starting to record later appear earlier in the list.
Please could you tell us what you have actually set to record and when you think the programmes start and finish and when the box thinks they start and finish.

The initial problem was the volume display on the screen appearing without touching the remote – and then not disappearing – making it not possible to use other functions.
The volume level then started to change without the remote being touched.
The stations then started to scroll without the remote being touched.
I’ve tried all the normal things. Turned off and on. Restart. Unplugged. Factory reset but the same problem remains.
Which model of Humax box do you have? Have you checked carefully that there isn’t another remote control (for different equipment) that has a book on top of it or wedged in a chair or similar?

I accidentally allowed Windows to initialise my Humax 9300 disk. Is there any way to recover my disk / my files now, or is my only option to reformat and lose everything?
It is fixable; I need to remember the method. I will post again in the morning.
Edit: decided to look up the solution and found it in an old email. You need humaxcheck which can be downloaded from https://myhumax.org/forum/topic/humaxrw
Assuming you know the drive number for the Humax drive (I will call it x where x is likely to be in the range 1..6) then the command to fix the Humax partition table is:
humaxcheck x: -p -w

But, sometimes they can be little bit behind on the news
I don’t normally use subtitles on the news but I did yesterday for the BBC evening news. It seemed to me that the subtitles were in synch when the studio presenter was reading her script but lagged behind when a foreign correspondent was talking live and I presume this is because the sub titles must be created on the fly in that situation.

Thanks for the response. Due to an early career in the music industry I have lost some of my upper range hearing which the speakers help with.
I have also lost upper range hearing; the only likely cause is spending too much time sitting in rally cars with screaming engines in my youth.
There doesn’t appear to be any lag problems with the 5000t for subtitles
Can I just confirm your use of the word “lag”. What I (and I think others) see is subtitles getting in advance of the action rather than lagging behind: I assume you are saying that subtitles stay in synch with the action across a range of channels?

Don’t normally use subtitles, just playing last Fridays Tipping Point ITV-HD . So far only about 2 minutes in but spot on, will report after ad skipping etc.
Graham thanks for investigating. What I see on ITV is that they start off in synch and then gradually (it may of course be a jump that I don’t notice) start to get ahead of the action; often the section after the last advert performs better than the rest of the program. Interested in what you find over a longer trial.

I’ve had to remove my aerial amplifier to get signal levels down to 70-80%, still with 100% quality. Still get some break up so I may have to invest in an attenuator to drop the signal more.
I would have expected 70-80% signal strength to be OK. You might want to check on other possible causes like interference from the HDMI lead.

my 9300T constantly loses recording schedule programs.
one moment all the channels picked are there, the next -blank!
Can I just check I understand the problem please. Are you saying that you set a number of programs to record and when you check later the scheduled recordings have vanished? If so this is a well known problem without a known solution.
