I was hoping to hear of a better solution, We’ve had it 6 years, I guess built in obsolescence has finally caught me out.

I suspect it is a component that isn’t as reliable as it should be; the earlier 9200T and the later Humax boxes don’t suffer from this problem.

How can I access and download software update for my PVR 9150T.

For instructions on installing the update see https://tynecomp.co.uk/flash9200.html

    I have a Humax PVR9300T.

We usually have a selection of recording requests set up on the Scheduler, but recently we’ve noticed that when we check if a program has not recorded we find that the schedule list has gone blank. We can set up the schedule again but after a short time (day or 2) we find the schedule list is blank again.

Well known problem with the 9300T. The only work around is to leave the box active 24 hours a day.

The reason I didn’t try it before is that I usually use a Logitech rechargeable but I had tried that and the original HUmax.

Rechargeable batteries are not a good idea in remotes as the voltage isn’t high enough for reliable operation. Does the Humax respond to the power button on the top of the case?

    1. Refurbished HDR-1800t that appears to have a USB port and can play file from according to the instructions,

    or

    2. PVR9200t from Ebay (very cheap) and use humaxrw to restore the files.

The HDR-1800T is probably the better option; much better as a recorder than the 9200T (which was a very good PVR in its day but struggles to cope with the much larger number of channels available now compared to when it was released).

On Sunday the 16th December 2018 we were set to record the series of the apprentice on both the FVR 5000T and our upstairs Humax DTR T1010, however the previous program “Sports Personality of The Year” ran over, probably due to Brexit. When we played the recording we got 1/2hr of Sports Personality and 1/2hr of the Apprentice on the FVR 5000T, whereas our upstairs recorder the Humax DTR-T1010 500gb model actually reset the programming so we were able to watch the full hour of the Apprentice.

We saw similar behaviour on our FVP-5000T. It is hard to say whether this is a failing of the FVP-5000T or whether the Freeview data wasn’t updated quickly enough. Interesting that the Youview data (as used by the DTR-T1010) was correct.

On the 6th December 2018 we had set to record the series of Oxford Street on Channel 5. This would have been 2 of 4. The FVR 5000T recorded this with the title Oxford Street but when played the recording was about a Ship!!.

    Anybody else have this happen?

Thanks for the responses, I will just have to check the instructions to determine what the padding feature is.

Leave it on the Auto setting.

NVidia Shield using Express VPN on router and local app working. All services apart from My5

Humax box not working on any catch-up. All failing.

Where is the Humax located (in the UK or elsewhere)?

1/ Should this recorder be able to identify unscheduled program changes, we tend to be getting one or two now where we are missing either the beginning or the back end of the recording due to a shift in the broadcasting times.

Yes it should but it does depend on the broadcaster updating the meta data. Could you provide examples of programmes where you have had problems?

2/ On occassion a planned recording has been substituted with another program, the first time we find out is when we come to play the planned recording, is this correct or should the machine know?

Again the recorder can distinguish providing the meta data has been updated. Again please provide specific examples when asking this sort of question.

Just up-plug it for a few minutes.

Just to clarify, the correct way to do this is to put the box into standby, wait until the hard drive has stopped spinning and THEN remove the power. Unplugging it whilst running is likely to eventually cause file system corruption.

Does anyone have a box that works reliably?

Yes our FVP-5000T does not suffer from any of the problems you are reporting.

I currently have a T2000 and it works well. BUT it doesn’t have a DLNA server.

I haven’t used my 2000T for some time as it’s back in the box.

Careful; the OP said T2000 which is a Youview box.

I always suspect that changing the cable rarely fixes the problem, but would be worth a try after re-seating the original.

In my world I find changing or testing the cable often fixes problems (but I have a lot of equipment that is moved from location to location).
