I have two FVP4000T boxes, both running on the latest software 1.03.51 and I cannot access the My5 website from either of them.

When you select My5 on the Humax, is this effectively accessing the My5 App and hence why the issue is with My5 and not Humax????

Yes it accesses the My5 app but it will be a version tweaked to work on the Humax and it seems to me that part of the problem is Humax and My5 are blaming each other for the current problem.

Full reset will be last resort will loose huge amount of recordings.

You will not lose a single recording when doing a reset; the same applies to all Humax PVRs that I am familiar with.

Ten days after I sent my 1010S to https://www.digirepairs.co.uk/ it came back perfect. All recordings etc restored.

    Delighted with their service.

Your first post in this thread just says “Happened to me too last night…” in response to someone complaining that a single recording was unplayable. Was that your problem or was your problem that the hard drive could no longer be accessed?

Lots of channels missing programme information. Some even have the wrong channel names. Sometimes the information appears as the time arrives. But can’t set recording ahead.

Have you tried turning off the mains power? If that doesn’t fix it then try a reset to default settings.

a way to “flash” new firmware to it for aussie compatibility?

If there is an Australian Humax recorder that uses EXACTLY the same hardware as the DTR-T1000 and the firmware is available as a download then it may be possible to modify the header in the firmware so that it will load; I have certainly done this for earlier Humax boxes. NB if the hardware is not identical then loading an incompatible software will probably brick the box (i.e. render it unusable and unrevoverable)/

Does anyone have any ideas please?

The problem with My5 has been acknowledged by Humax; sadly it seems to be taking a long time for a fix to appear and the only thing you can do is be patient (or try complaining to Humax or Channel 5). The other players performance seems to be about par for the course.

The error has been seen by a number of posters including myself, it is rare and the cause not known.

There is a similar problem that occurs occasionally on the HDR-FOX T2 and that is believed to be due to the box temporarily getting its encryption keys confused so that it makes recordings that it can’t subsequently decrypt. Happens maybe once or twice a year on our HDR-FOX T2. The fix is simply to power cycle the box.

    @GrahamRHK,

I have tried alternative DNS settings but no improvement.

Could you tell us what alternative DNS settings you have tried? Who is your broadband supplier?

I have tested the players on my FVP-5000T:

    BBC iplayer works fine

ITV player: first attempt loaded basic user interface very slowly and would go no further; second attempt loaded and was able to play a programme.

Channel 4 player loaded a bit slowly and was able to play a programme.

I do wonder if part of the problem is just extra demand on the system due to people self isolating?

To be honest, I have enough hassle getting the 4000T to recognise ANY signal as the range of the receiver is amazingly narrow and insensitive.

Which model of remote control do you have: the RM-L03 or RM-L08? The RM-L08 is better but the early production batches were problematic.

How do I download anything other than BBC iPlayer onto my HDR 1800T.

    Apps like Netflix, ITVhub etc

Or is the answer you can’t ?

Sorry but the answer is (as you guessed) that you can’t.

When going into Media on handset the deleting symbol keeps going.

This stops my recordings from being recorded although the recording light is on. When I play my recorded programes already done previously, they play and I can delete them.

I suspect your Humax has developed a file system problem. There is a guide to fixing the problem without losing recordings at https://myhumax.org/forum/topic/how-to-fix-hard-drive-and-file-system-problems

Could there be something else in the room interfering with the remotes? A remote for another devices stuck down the side of a chair or with something on it or a faulty low energy bulb perhaps.

I have a PVR 8000 sat and i’ve been able to copy a recorded file to a PC. The extension is .vid and not VLC nor Stremclip are able to deal with it so I came here to ask if there is a way to extract the video (and audio, of course) section from the .vid file.

Is it a sort of a zipped archive (like office “2010 and on” files)?

There is a post here https://www.avforums.com/threads/humax-pvr8000-how-to-copy-recorded-programs-off-the-hard-drive.976137/ where xyz321 (who is well known here as the author of a utility for downloading recordings from a 9200T) says that recorded content on the 8000T is encrypted in which case you can’t play it back (without finding a way to remove the encryption)>
