I put a 2 t bite h drive in a humax 200T machine that had a 500gb drive. It asked me to format disc witch I did

I think. but then came up with unknown error.

The max size for these units for the box to handle the install is most likely 1TB.

Nonsense. The limit is 2TB just the same as the earlier HDR-FOX T2. I know this for certain because I fitted a 2TB drive to our HDR-2000T last year. I suggest the OP tries again and if that fails, tells us what make and model of drive he is trying to use.

Still have channels at 670-795 and 201-271 max normal channels 115

I think that is all normal. The channels above 750 are I think temporary channels provided on a short term basis after the change of frequency of some multiplexes and will only be available for a short time (intended to allow people time to get new aerials where necessary).

None of the transmitters in range use channel 37.

The Freeview coverage checker shows channel 37 on Winter Hill?

I think the correct list of channels should be

    DVB-T: 32, 37, 49, 58, 59

    DVB-T2: 54, 55, 56

    see https://www.freeview.co.uk/help/coverage-checker/detailed-view

    how do I do that?

When in the manual tuning screen for the channel, move the highlight down to Transmission and then press right arrow and select DVB-T2.

    Only one is on T2

The information in front of me says they are both using DVB-T2.

    However, 54 55 had 0 signal.

Are you remembering to change the Transmission type from DVB-T to DVB-T2 for these channels which are carrying high definition multiplexes?

I’m guessing that I need to reinitiallise or scan without “smart” to force it to do that? I guess I will loose schedule? But not recordings?

Yes you should not use smart search in this case; you will lose the schedule of future recordings but not any recordings that have already been made.

In 2020 is it still the case that HDR 1800T does not have ITV hub? All I can get on mine is BBC I player, and U-Tube.

You are correct no ITV hub on an HDR-1800T.

Your missing channel has been identified as on the ARQ B multiplex which is generally a lower powered multiplex to the main 6, and sometimes even outside the normal band of the aerial.

Surely ARQ B is one of the main six?

The channel that when missing was Talking pictures channel, but after I did a re-tune the channel cane back.

Talking Pictures is carried on the ARQ B multiplex; did other channels on ARQ B disappear at the same time eg LCN 25 Yesterday or 29 4Music?

I sometimes get the following problem with my FVP 5000T box find that the box will just lose channels without any warning, and I have no idea the box has done this, this problem does not happen all the time, the box will be running fine and this problem just happens.

Please could you tell us which channels are missing?

Yes it does have a network address in system settings.

Can you tell us all the network information (IP Address, Netmask, Gateway, DNS) please?

    FVP has it’s own servers.

That was certainly true on earlier Humax boxes. How do you know it is true for the FVP boxes?

OK, channel 55 returned no stations, and I now have bbc1 o on chanel 751

Channel 751 is a temporary channel used after a significant change of transmitter frequency for a multiplex. If it is the only BBC1 you are receiving it may indicate that you need a new aerial.

Also,I believe sofware updates have been issued which sorted the problem for some, but not others, like ourselves, so helps to keep us on the radar.

Whose radar? When Barry stood down I think we lost the only person who had any real contact with Humax.
