It’s obviously a problem with COM7, so I did as suggested above and did a manual retune of channel 55 (I’m on Winter Hill). Result – no channels found.
Any suggestions?
When you retuned, did you set the “Transmission” type to DVB-T2 for channel 55? If you enter your details at https://www.freeview.co.uk/corporate/platform-management, then look in the COM7 HD section, What is the value in the column with an “S” as its header for the “Now” row?

IP: 100.113.199.49
Primary DNS: 192.168.22.22
Secondary DNS: 192.168.22.23
Those values look odd. Is the Humax connecting direct to the router or is there some sort of WiFi extender involved? If there is is it working properly?

I have a HUMAX Foxsat-hdr bought from eBay.
There hasn’t been an official software update for the FOXSAT for a long time as far as I know. The latest version is available from http://beta.humaxonline.co.uk/downloads/foxsat-hdr
What are you hoping an update will do?

also sometimes find that the box show no internet connection but the box is connected to the my router, this problem only happens sometimes and get no warning have changed the cable in the back of the box that is connected to my power line adapter but still face the problem.
The problem is most likely that the powerline adapter isn’t waking up quickly enough sometimes. See if there is a manufacturers utility to turn off power saving on the powerline.

The HDD I have is a Seagate ST3500322CS P/N 9GW132-510 and top right on the label is Video 3.5 HDD. The “new” HDD is same ST but P/N9GWW132-012 and top right on the label is Pipeline HD.2. I believe having trawled Google that the “new” HDD was actually replaced by the model in my 1000S. It would be nice to know if either of these HDD’s would work in my Foxsat HDR?
The 132-012 hard drive should work in a Foxsat as is. The 132-510 would need its speed reducing to SATA I to work in the Foxsat which may be possible.

by the way everything else works ok , the disk does spin up, just not reading. still can be used to watch all channels. i’m considering taking the caps out to test, although none of them are blown .
Have you considered the option of getting it repaired see https://www.digirepairs.co.uk/product/repair-booking-humax-freesat-plus-freeview-plus-youview-plus-box-repairs-2/
If you went this route you could discreetly mark components and hopefully discover what has been changed.

77 strength, 100 quality
That is pretty much an ideal signal strength.

Thanks for the reply. That is annoying. This is the link to where I sourced the replacement http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B002CMOH26/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Clearly indicates Sata 3.0 Gb/s or am I missing something?
My understanding is that the design of the ST3500312CS is capable of 3.0 Gb/s but for some reason drives intended for Sky boxes were set to 1.5 Gb/s and no one has found a way of changing that. Contact the seller and discuss it with them, maybe not all the drives they have are from old Sky boxes.

but what freesat box to buy
I think your only option for a new Freesat box is the Arris; you could get a new hard drive fitted to your Humax box to keep you going while the Arris box software matures.

it’s the Humax 4k free-sat box by Arris
i just purchased it from Currys
It isn’t a Humax box; they lost the Freesat contract. The manufacturer is Arris.

Both new and old have ST3500312CS
New drive. P/N 9GW132-012
An 9GW132-012 will have been produced for a Sky box and is locked at 1.5Gb/s (SATA I). Your original drive will have been SATA II 3.0Gb/s. It is known that SATA I drives will not work in various Humax models and I am guessing we can add HDR 1000 to the list.

For information. I sourced a new Seagate ST3500312CS – same model as existing HDD.
What is the part number (the bit after P/N on the drive label)? There are an awful lot of variants and some are compatible and some are not.
