Personally I wouldn’t recommend that seller; the drives are probably “reconditioned”. Some will be OK and some will fail in quite a short time. I would suggest a Seagate Skyhawk drive https://www.amazon.co.uk/Seagate-3-5-Inch-SkyHawk-Internal-Surveillance/dp/B01LOOJ8QM/ref=sr_1_3?

The file is a .hdf file. I assumed Winzip would work but it does not and I have found it impossible to find something that will unzip the .hdf file. I have found app/programs that can change the hdf file to another formal but not that will open it.

If the extension is .hdf you don’t need to do anything to the file; just transfer it to a suitable USB memory stick.

The only puzzling thing is tuner 3 shows nil signal and nil quality but is producing recordings of equal quality as tuners 1 and 2.

Are you checking when it is actually in the process of making a recording using tuner 3?

Then, one day, I overshot on the EPG and stumbled upon BBC FOUR lurking on Ch851!

When you retuned did you use the “Smart” option which does have the benefit of retaining the schedule of future recordings but does sometimes leave things in a strange state? If so you might want to try again without the Smart option (having first made a record of the schedule of future recordings).

I am connected by ethernet. I have changed the router dns settings to openDNS and flushed the dns cache on the PC (recommended by Asus)

You might want to check in the router DHCP server settings that the correct DNS is being issued; this has tripped me up before on a different router.

    Hi All

I note some devices are now working. My HDR200T now displays under maintenance when I hit the iplayer App, so not even getting into iplayer at all as before. Anyone in the same situation.

    Thanks

    .

My HDR2000t is still not working. I get same error message.

Somebody over on hummy.tv has pointed out that on the HDR-FOX T2 there is a certificate embedded in the firmware associated with iPlayer that expired on the 28th September 2020 which might be significant. The HDR-2000T software is similar to the HDR-FOX T2 so might be suffering from the same problem.

I have the same problem, no utube. Get it ok on my firestick so seems it’s a Humax problem, they have probably stopped paying utube for the service. Not good enough Humax.

I rather doubt that Humax pay YouTube anything. In several cases I suspect service providers have paid Humax to implement their service on a specific box.

To rule out the sound box, I had just the TV and 5000T connected. It was stable until I started to change channels, alter the volume or in fact do anything via the 5000T (handset), because that started the whole sequence again.

Very odd and I don’t pretend to understand what is happening; a couple of things you could try: reset the 5000T handset by removing the batteries and pressing a button the remote for 10 seconds to get rid of any residual charge, then replace batteries. Try changing the remote control mode using the procedure in this FAQ https://myhumax.org/forum/topic/multi-code-function-fvp-remote

If neither of those help (and I am not very optimistic) then I would next be looking at the various cables and where possible swapping them for any spares you have.

There is a simple way to check if it is probably a Humax change or probably a BBC change causing the problem by installing the previous release of the Humax software.

How are you going to stop the iPlayer app from updating its software?

    Hello,

I have a FVP 5000T box and also a youview box as well, the problem is that when I press the power switch on the remote control for the FVP 5000T box will also switch on the youview as well, and when I switch the youview box on the FVP 5000T switch on as well.

There Is a number you can change on the FVP 5000T to stop this from happening,

    Try this FAQ https://myhumax.org/forum/topic/multi-code-function-fvp-remote

I cannot really understand why there should be any need for the iPlayer app to access BBC content via a Humax server in the first place. Why not connect directly?

I have to say that I have never understood why the requests go via Humax servers.

I may be totally wrong but I would imagine that if the only servers hosting the content were based at the BBC, it would need to be one hell of an enormous server for everyone to directly access it without bottlenecks.

I believe the infrastructure relies heavily on cached content stores provide by various suppliers.

I have been told that the iPlayer app on Humax boxes does not connect directly to the BBC servers, but interacts with them via a server or servers operated by Humax themselves. If that is the case, then it is very likely that Humax has made a configuration change to their servers which is causing the current problem.

Why do you think that “it is very likely” that Humax have changed something? I would have thought it is equally possible that the BBC have made a change that breaks the existing Humax server configuration. We do know that the problems started immediately after an iPlayer update but they are pretty frequent anyway.

There is only one app available and that’s the BT TV one ad Humax have stopped theirs or BT bought Humax out, not sure there…but definitely it’s the BT TV app I use …

OK that is as far as I know the correct app. I am not a Youview user so I hope another member will be along to offer further advice.

Sorry yes it’s the youview model, I can’t get to record remotely and may be it’s because the unit goes into sleep mode, I can adjust the hours for it to be live before it sleeps, 13 is the max to be live then it sleeps until I press it back on again, but can’t seem to keep the unit continually live….

What app are you using to try and set remote recordings?
