I’ve owned a number of Humax boxes, going back to Humax PVR-9200T which I think was first, and all of them have had issues with series record. The majority of the problems as Graham has pointed out is bad data from the broadcasters and nothing to do with the box itself.
I have also owned a number of different Humax boxes that support series record and my experience is that if the box is tuned to a single transmitter and recordings are from channels that support accurate recording then series recording works really well; certainly not perfect but problems are infrequent.

There are no amplifiers to the aerial. One channel in particular gives dropout problems its Channel 26. If I tune to it and then go to the settings /channel and broadcast / signal test` its show the signal test screen for tuner 1 but channel 39 ???
The average readings are strength 54 % quality 67 %.
How do I check the actual channel 26 strength.
I am not convinced that this a problem with signal strength being too high; could you tell us at least the first part of your post code please?

Manual tuning is of absolutely no value in this situation.
Why do you think manual tuning is of no value? I have used it on various Humax models over more than ten years and found it an effective workaround to the problem of poor auto tuning implementations.

My new LG OLED48CX TV has taken over control of the volume from the Humax remote, something my previous Samsung never did.
On the Humax try setting the sound output for HDMI to Stereo (Red Freeview button> Settings> General Settings> Audio).

Is there a better way to download my FVP-4000t recordings to my PC or Tablet other than the outdated Humax Media Player App?
The Humax Media Player app won’t, as far as I know, work with the FVP-4000T; it will only work with the much earlier PVT 9200T. The main issue that you have to overcome is that all recordings are encrypted and will not play on any other device until the encryption is removed. If you have SD recordings then you can copy them to an attached USB drive and they will be decrypted see https://myhumax.org/forum/topic/how-to-archive-recordings-to-usb-hdd. Alternatively you can use the DLNA server on the FVP-4000T to decrypt SD recordings see https://myhumax.org/forum/topic/file-transfer or you can use VLC to do something similar.

Is there a way to move recored files within the FPR other than sort on time or A –Z. Or can I even change their file names or move them in a folder. With my old PVR/ FVRs I could do this.
Sadly as far as I am aware it is not possible to rename anything or create folders.

So, apparently Netflix needs a DRM hardware chip for you to be able to be certified which perhaps the Aura doesn’t have installed.
The Humax FVP-5000T has Netflix and I seriously doubt that the Aura has less DRM capability so I don’t think your suggestion is valid.

Certain channnels don’t display for me due to weak signal. The aerial works fine on my tv so there must be a box issue
So what signal strength and quality is the Aura reporting on the channels that it can receive?

In which case you would have done better to post in either the FVP or Youview sections of the forum rather than the section dedicated to the older 9xxx series machines and saved me wasting my time.

You haven’t said what model the old box is? On any of the 9xxx series boxes you can transfer recordings by opening the old recorder, extracting the hard drive, connecting it to a PC (windows or Linux) and use software called humaxrw to transfer them to the PC. Each recording will have several files but the only you need is the .ts file. You can upload these to the Download folder on the FVP and play them from there or copy them to a USB drive and plug that into the FVP.

I have a ethernet cable connected between the two.
Now that makes sense.
But i have a soare router so im going to see if i can connect all 3 to that and see if that will work. Use it like a big connector block.

Im not sure. All i know is that i went thro the settings on noth my 5000 and Fox and they both connected to the hit spot. But if defo connected to my phone.
Is there a network cable connecting the HDR-FOX T2 to your network?

Interesting. So I have an Aura for the front room, but was tempted to get a cheap freeview box for our bedroom TV, I don’t care about recording stuff upstairs, but being able to see downstairs recordings in it would be awesome. Is it possible on the Aura?
